Unsurprisingly all of the housemates are still on their best behaviour, giving no indication of the vitriol that is certain to flood out of their very pores once inhibition has been cast aside in favour of adopting a more mercenary approach to communal living and the possibility of converting infamy into cash.
The possible exception is Lilly, whose choreographed episodes of antisocial insanity began the moment she noisily pranced into the house, an act that sets her apart from the others who still hide behind a thin veneer of joviality. Has Lilly "peaked" too soon, one woders, or is she striving for even greater infamy with an almighty outrage come the denoument. Her conduct is in stark contrast to that of Ryan and Secundus (apologies, I have forgotten his name), yet unlike Lilly - who, inexplicably is favoured by many - they are lambasted for being unobtrusice, in the case of Ryan, and just a very little narcissistic in a subdued fashion where Secundus is concerned. Lilly is a cliche, in that she is mocking housemates who choose not to mimic her witless ways, maligning them for their manners and erudition and badmouthing them in the diary room. She would make a fine monitor in Slytherin and a devoted disciple of Lord Voldemort one may reasonably assume. There is someone like her in the house every year, almost certainly singled out by Big Brother for their willingness to be brash, offensive, selfish and crude. Consider last year, when the house was soiled by the presence of several truly vile human beings., many of whom were lauded for no reasono other than that they indulged in what they called "plain speaking" but which anyone with even a modest complement of brain cells would correctly identify as acts that were insulting, malignant, dishonest and their trademark. The title of this post is "Forever Changes". It is ill chosen, as too many things never change, notably the ability of BB housemates to parade as the worst possible specimens of the species. Stroll on evolution. Let forever change. |
