Hi. Creating a fresh thread so nobody has to wade through a load of posts.

I've decided to post it, starting today, in installments. It's set in the future...just a little bit. 23rd December, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. First installment will definitely be sometime today when I can fit it in.

Firstly I'm going to post reminders of the characters, the theme songs and the prologue.

Prologue Reminder

23rd December 2024.

Twas a night before Christmas
And all through the house
Not a creature was stirring
Not even a mouse......

Except!!

There was! Underneath Tibb Towers, in the deepest ratruns, lived a colony of mice. This year they'd had enough of scraps and had concocted a fiendish and dastardly plan to wage a midnight assault on Christmas Eve on the good folks of Tibb Town's Houses and the Tower Ballroom where a veritable feast was planned for Christmas Day....

Part 1.

December 23rd 2024

7am

The Mice are in the rat runs, and messing about beneath the local pub, run by MTVN with his beautiful Barmaids Rusti and Smudge. They like licking the drips from the barrels in the store room and there's also a somewhat decrepit snooker table. They are discussing the plan to invade the village on Christmas Eve at midnight.

Chattering Crimson and Biting Barry are riding the snooker balls (pardon!) and rolling themselves across the table.

Avaricious Alf has over indulged in drips from a beer barrel and is staggering around with his tail in the air.

Munching Mock, Tenacious ThomasC and Rampant Ray are 'singing' There's a Rat in Mi Kitchen!

Nibbling Nicky, the softest hearted of the mice is hiding in a corner and sneakily writing a letter to Princess Vanessa.

......

Princess Vanessa awakens and finds a note under her pillow. It's a warning that "you need to know that us Mice are plotting to invade Tibb Town at midnight on Christmas Eve. Don't tell that I've told you.. yours rattily, Nibbling Nicky xx"

Princess Vanessa telephones Lord James and informs him. He thanks her.

9am

Lord James has summoned the Angels, his team of local lasses, they arrive to see him.

Lusty Livia, Jingle Josy and Voluptuous Vicky have been taking Karate lessons and plan to beat up those pesky mice.

Angelic Annie and Jolly Jess intend to stab the mice with their knitting needles, whilst Cherubic Cherie and Nymphette Niamh decide to batter them with potatoes. Holy Hijaxers prays for their souls.

Lord James informs them that they must also track down the long absent Pied Piper of Tibb Town, Quantum Boy and procure his assistance.

12 Noon

The Royal Family are having lunch. Good King Glennceslas is on fine form, telling cracker jokes and singing "Ding Dong Merrily on high!" Queen Amminthedrunktank has been on the sherry since 7am.

The Princes and Princesses...Vanessa and Josiah. Kazanne and Redway, Swan and Goldheart are also in full fettle, looking forward to the feast and merriment on Christmas Day. They are all confident that the mice will soon be dealt with.

5pm

MTVN and Strictly Jake are having their customary 12 pints of shandy in the Tibb Arms. They are planning joint proposals (MTVN for Barmaid Rusti and Jake for Barmaid Smudge). There's a lot of giggling...yes men can giggle..and flirting as Rusti and Smudge try to find out what's going on but to no avail.

11pm.

Bookmaker Benjamin is burning the midnight oil so to speak. It's becoming harder and harder to conceal that he's been skimming money off his taxes which he pays to MP JoeySteele. Joey pays him a late night visit and queries it. Benjamin breaks down and confesses but there's a twist to the tale. Unknown to Joey, Ben has been giving the cash to Vicar Maru to be distributed among the poor and needy.

Joey says he'll sleep on it.

Next Day

…where’s the sherry…?…it’s 6am already and I haven’t had a sherry, how am I expected to function under these conditions of hardship and deprivation…

…I demand to speak to the manager of this story, where is the sherry…?…!!!!!!!…I’m an easy gal, I’ll settle for a strawberry and basil mojito if the sherry supplies haven’t arrived yet…

24th December. Christmas Eve.

9am

The Deputy Sheriff meets with MP Joeyand Joey says he suspects there is more to the case than meets the eye. The Deputy summons Benjamin who confesses to what he was really doing.
Music plays....Hero by Mariah Carey. The Sheriff pardons him and Joey agrees to cut his taxes and wipe any debt as a gesture of good will.

9am Queen Amminthedrunktank has escalated to Baileys and Bucks Fizz. Good King Glennceslas pats her on the head and says he's making an appointment for her to see the doctor. She ignores him and tops up her glass.

12 noon.

The Mice further their plans, unaware that Nibbling Nicky has secretly told Princess Vanessa the whole story. At midnight they are going to access previously constructed tunnels and make their way into the Townsfolks houses and the Tibb Tower Ballroom and take as much food as possible back to the ratruns for their own Christmas feast.

1pm

The Royals are shopping for Christmas Day outfits with personal shopper Mr Arista (yes I know they've left it late!) King Glennceslas chooses a very fetching purple velvet suit, Queen Amminthedrunktank throws a port and lemon down her neck and opts for a lime green silk blouse and a pair of bright red satin trousers much to the consternation of Mr Arista, who raises their eyebrows and says "red and green should bever be seen my dear" The Queen ignores him. Princes Josiah, Swan and Redway go for similar suits in white (they've been watching too much of the Sinnerman on the Chase!) Princess Vanessa chooses a red cocktail dress, Princess Kazanne goes for one in silver, and Princess Goldheart aims to stun in icy blue.

3pm Book keeper Benjamin and Vicar Maru are summoned together to the MP's office. He offers them a one off sum of Ł5,000 pounds courtesy of the King to be shared among needy townsfolk.

4pm.

Dr Jones is having a chat in his consulting room with Queen Amminthedrunktank. Nurse Kate is in attendance. Dr Jones remonstrates with the Queen about her alcoholic intake but she's quite merry on Cider and Black so just laughs and snogs him. Nurse Kate says "Now, now we'll have less of that."

6pm

DJ Parmy and Ballroom Manager Jake are in the Tower Ballroom talking about what songs to play that evening. Parmy wants U2 and Oasis, Jake more traditionally would prefer Wham! And Mariah. They agree to have both plus some novelty songs for Benjamin, who really (yes really) can't get enough.

Oliver the Optician and Travel Agent User are having a drink in the Tibb Arms. Oliver wants to book a winter break for 2025, his heart is set on some beautiful Scottish scenery but User is attempting to flog him an all inclusive package deal to Barbados.

8pm. Benjamin, Joey the MP and the Sheriff are bonding over a few pints, also in the Tibb Arms. Benjamin is running a book on who will win the evenings Karaoke competition, and offering various odds.
