X Factor contestant risks £50k
Quote:
X Factor contestant risks £50k AN X Factor wannabe has invested his life savings into winning the show - and risked a whopping £50,000.
Raj, a 44-year-old pharmacist from Leamington Spa, is so convinced he'll top the charts he's given up his job.
He said: "I’ve given it literally everything. I’ve sacrificed having a family life for my music."
When Raj comes face-to-face with the judges, he even boasts he could be as popular as The Police and U2.
Although he doesn't quite get the reception he hoped for after singing one of his own songs to showcase his talent.
Acid-tongued Simon Cowell says: "Raj, go back to the pharmacy and save your money.
"There is as much chance of you being a pop or rock star as me flying to the moon tomorrow morning for breakfast."
But Raj won’t let the harsh comments dash his hopes of stardom.
He added: "It might not happen for me in this country but it will happen. In Japan, America.
"I’ve worked with people before and if I was as bad as (the judges) say, they would have told me years ago."
