Default Double standards

I was listening to the song 'Can't Hold Us Down' by Christina Aguilera and Lil Kim and it's basically about double standards between women and men.

These are some of the lyrics...
If the guy have three girls then hes the man
He can either give us some head, sex her off
If the girl do the same, then shes a *****

Do you think that it's fair that if a girl sleeps around she is a 'slut' and if a guy sleeps around he's a 'legend'?
What are your views on this?

I really hate the fact that if a girl sleeps around she is called all sorts of names, Slut, Slag ect, yet if a guy sleeps around he ent called anything, so yeah it is double standards and I hate lol.

Yeah, it's definatly wrong it happens but to be honest, the majority of the ''slut'' comments are from other girls anyway. You see a lot more girls calling other girls a slut for stuff like that then lads calling girls it.

In History, men have always been considered as the higher gender, the Dom Juan, the playboy so it does explain that a man who has a threesome or more is considered as an hero.
And the girls, who during thousand and thousand of years has been considered as prostitutes, mentals and other insults like calling all the tornados by a girl name, are called slut because they sleep with other boys. Because a girl who does offer her body to the other men is a prostitute. But the woman is considered as the mother, the origin of everything so for people, when they imagine a girl, that mother nature being ********* by 3 boys it's harsh.

I think it's unfair but it's how the societies and the traditions go actually.

I personally don't think this is true...
Maybe a few years ago, but not necessarily now.

Nowadays if a man sleeps around I know I and many others have a negative opinion of him, and female orientated words such as "slut/slag" often get thrown at men.

1. Practically all women will think badly of him.
2. All the regular nice guys in the world, or just normal boys will most likely disagree with it.
3. The only people who will think he's a "stud" or something similar, will be those "lads lads" with half a brain, who get drunk every weekend and try pulling anything in sight. The one's who usually go around with jumpers on, with the sleeves rolled up and shout too much, and were usually bullies at school and got mediocre/non existant GCSE results.

So the negative opinions of men who sleep around, far outweigh the positive opinions of the one social group of "lads lads"

I think it's grossly unfair, but in general I'd say it's women who are calling each other sluts etc. Men who do call women that are in a minority, in my experience.

I also think it's unfair that it's always called "domestic abuse" if a man hits a woman, but if it's the other way around, it's almost always just considered to be the norm and allowed. I don't think that's very fair at all, it's not fair to say that all men who hit women are domestic abusers, and it's not fair to say that all women who hit men are right to do so.

Yeah I agree with that. But it's like women get raped more then men, I mean I have never read/heard of a man getting rapped by a women, maybe by another man, but never a women, not saying it doesn't happening though.

I still stand by the fact it's physically impossible for a woman to rape a man without some kind of aid- that can be a physical aid, or use of drugs.

But I fully understand the point you're making!

Well, to be honest, I do think that all men who hit women - unless it's in self defence - are domestic abusers. However, I would agree that it's equally as wrong for a woman to hit a man - again, unless it's in self defence.
