I live by the sea, nextdoor to Brighton...
Which means im not living in a typical quiet seaside town, but one that's filled with foreign tourists and foreign coaches full of school children/ college students. Mainly the japanese funnily enough, who seem to have some kind of fascination with the area. [Im still persuing my dream of finding an english speaking japanese girl who I can chat up lol.] There's no litter, barely any crime so it would seem, lots of normal people, with a few emo's dotted about the place and barely any chavs. Some would think of it as a paradise I suppose. However, im originally from a very common town up north named Burnley, so im typically used to the exact opposite. Chavs everywhere, drunks, fights, crime, dodgy people and litter as far as the eye can see. Best place ive ever lived was Surrey, near Epsom. The most expensive property area in England at the time [maybe still.] with lots of well off people, which makes all the adults rather stuck up/boring. But all the younger people are decent and I lived right next to the major train line and station...which meant easy trips all over the South East, from London to Brighton. So you couldn't complain for lack of a nightlife/things to do. Only problem I have with living down south is they're potentially a lot more rude/unsociable. Back in Burnley I literally knew everyone for miles, not because I was immensely popular but just because it was such a close community. Everyone was ten times more friendly. Down south I haven't even gotten to know my nextdoor neighbours, and often fall into situations such as me stepping out into the road with a red light on, some idiot ignoring the red light and almost running me over, then HIM deciding to shout at me for being in the way. Ive also suffered much patronising, namely at a University interview from a uni professor who talked down to me, in my opinion, due to my accent. Also people dismissing me for jobs because of my voice, or saying im uncapable of handling telephone calls because im not immensely posh. |

I live in a really popular town for tourists...but the majority of Torquay is a shithole. Lots of unemployment and drug use. Crime is quite low though... and there are only a few chavs

I live in the second city of France, Marseille, in the south. I love it, we have some beautiful islands, the sea, the beach, the sun all year long (it rains 7-8 days a year).
Of course there are the rich and the poor areas but both are clean and respected. I enjoy where I live, my area is deffo really cool, in the middle of the city with the metro just in front of the building so it's easier. |

I live on a council estate =/
It's not awful, but it's quite bad? Mostly populated with chavs, gangs and junkies, I live on the front, so I don't see a lot of this thankfully. For example, a famous gang on my estate chased this guy out of a pub on the estate, and shot/stabbed him like.. just around the corner from my flat =/ We heard it and everything [couldn't see it because there's another block of flats in the way] and armed policeman were knocking on doors and everything, it was REALLY scary. Not to mention the boy that got the sentence for it lives on the floor below me in our flats o.0 Things have calmed down a little. I won't walk through our estate alone because I KNOW I'll get some sorta comment. I'm pretty much the outcasted teen on here, since I'm what they'd class as 'grungie', 'emo' etc? Plus I'm kinda gay, which although no-one can prove, it kinda shows sometimes? =/ There are some nice people though, like the guy that lives opposite? He's really sweet *cough*andkindahotandkindamarried*cough*, but he's been there for me when I've needed someone and my parents ain't been around? So at the moment, things are kinda calm, but like I said, I don't see much of it since I live in the front. |

I live in a kinda nice area of Leeds, its got some great schools and the people are nice. There are some area's like any city where there is poverty and high crime but its a nice city to live in.
However, we're looking to move closer to my family who live in Rutland (where????) Its the smallest county in the UK and its where I grew up. It beautiful and has everything that you could ask for if you want a nice stable place to bring up the family. Excellent school a wonderful community and of course the biggest bonus..... family..... and the prospect of babysitters

I live in a town called shildon which is in Co.Durham, which is in the north east.If you dont already know. Its about a half our drive to newcastle city centre (thats if you dont get stuck in traffic!).I hate my town!!!Its full of old people and trains.(We have this huge train museum that opened a few years back which apparantly gets tourists from all ovetr the world
)Anyway its soooooooooooooo boring,I can not wait to move. Some parts of the town are quite rough, like theres a big council estate and a couple of other 'notorious' streets which are full of druggies, convicts etc.Oh and theres also ALOT of chavs, but emo`s seem to eb taking over too!I guess you could say I like in the 'nice' end of the town but I still hate living here
