Britney Spears spends a whopping $737,000 (£353,775) on herself each month! The pop princess was forced to reveal her lavish spending habits as part of the ongoing court case – will it ever end? – between her and K-Fed. The report revealed that she spends £49,000 on entertainment, gifts and holidays, £7,500 on clothes and £2,300 on eating out. To balance out all that partying, Brit also forks out £41,350 on health insurance premiums and other medical costs – believed to include regular stays in rehab. Also, her mortgage payments on her two homes total £29,400 and she also pays K-Fed £7,180 in child support and £9,570 in spousal support, although the latter will end on 15 November. heatworld is currently feeling guilty having just spent £1.55 on a cup of coffee it could have made for itself in the rancid kitchenette area...

And why does she have so much money to spend?
Because for some strange reason, people who can sing/act are valued the most in today's society...
With a few extra professions, such as footballers.

Yes, singing, kicking a ball and pretending to be somebody else = Worthwhile and deserving of vast amounts of money.

Police, firefighters, people in the medical profession, even scientists etc = Decent wage, but nothing in comparison.

Singers/actors/comedians etc even receive knighthoods from the queen.

A long way away from people who fought and survived wars, saved villages, rescued people in danger etc to earn their knighthoods.

Why is travelling the world using your voice, worthy of all that money?
Compared to people who work all day long saving lives, helping others etc?

The argument would be, did she really earn ALL that money?
Is what she does worthy of such large sums?

Im thinking not.

It's the equivalent of me appearing on TV for 15mins to chat to an interviewer in a nice comfy chair, and being paid £250,000 for it. Did I EARN that money?

Police , Firefighters and the like make the world what it is and maintain it , but it is the entertainers who reap the benefits. We dont all need to be rescued from a burning building but we virtually all need entertainment.

Im not disagreeing with you Retroman , and im not undermining Authority , Academics , or Entrepreneurs , but it is the entertainers who reap the finnancial benefits of the world we live in.

Still , is what she does worth large sums? Hell no. But hey , its the way the world works.

Lol I think you're missing the point...
She's worth 60 million because of the way society value's singers, as well as publicity, nothing more, nothing less.

There are people just as good as her earning nothing for their talents, purely because nobodies discovered them, signed them up, and marketed them.

She doesn't EARN anything remotely near that amount, she just makes that much due to reasons that have nothing to do with her.

And yes she's talented, but so are people who research and invent cures for diseases...yet they're still on an above average wage.

Opening your mouth and singing decently like thousands of other people = Massive amounts of cash as long as you're on tele and your agent knows what he's doing.

Understanding the complex matter of science and having a unique enough brain to come up with ideas, theories and eventually cures for diseases, or remedies that help = Decent wage, but nothing remotely close to Britney Spears.

She has been completely manafactured to do so however. And I dont have a problem with that. And im sure she faces the same struggles as the rest of us and whatever but at the end of the day she has an average voice. She has been created and changed and manipulated and publicised to MAKE that 80 million.

You cant exactly back up an argument of saying 'she earned it' by quoting how many albums she has sold.

Lol having large amounts of money is wonderful and all...
But I don't think there's many people on the planet currently jealous of Britney Spears with all her bad press etc.

She could lose it all easily...you only have to look at Michael Jackson to realise that. He was most likely a lot richer than her too, yet he made himself "broke"

Though "broke" in Michael Jacksons world is still enough money to live in a half decent house with a pool etc. Which just goes to show how ridiculously rich people like them are.

Nobody deserves that amount of money over other people just for the sake of singing...
It's such a large amount of money, it could seriously make a difference in the world.

That's right, one persons voice is earning enough money that they could make dramatic changes with it...just plain stupidity in my opinion.
