Divorce for Big Brother lovers

CELEBRITY Big Brother stars Preston and Chantelle will divorce today.

The Ordinary Boys singer and the reality show winner wed just 16 months ago.

Chantelle Houghton, 24, has applied for a decree nisi. The pair are said to be splitting their assets 50-50 despite her earnings dwarfing his.

A decree absolute will be issued in six weeks if there are no objections.

The couple got together last year on Celebrity BB — which she won, netting £25,000.

They broke up only 10 months after they wed, with Chantelle saying she realised it was a mistake four days into their honeymoon.

Since their split she has dated Chris Neal, who dumped fellow BB housemate Nikki Grahame for her.

Preston, 25, is dating French beauty Camille Aznar, 26 — the girl he dumped for Chantelle.

The fairytale reality show marriage between Celebrity Big Brother star Chantelle Houghton and Preston ended today.

Chantelle was granted a quickie divorce from her musician husband on the grounds of his 'unreasonable behaviour', according to court documents obtained by the Daily Mail.

Former Paris Hilton lookalike Chantelle Houghton, 24, applied for a decree nisi to end their marriage of just ten months.

The documents revealed that Preston, real name Samuel Dylan Murray Preston, offered no objection to to the grounds of the divorce petition, which he signed last month.

Therefore, a decree absolute will be issued in six weeks.

Chantelle, who met Preston when she entered the Celebrity Big Brother house in January 2006 as a non-celebrity, listed her profession as an 'entertainer' on the document.

And unusually, the pair are expected to be split their assets 50-50 despite her earnings being significantly higher than his, according to reports.

After meeting and falling in love on the show, despite Preston's engagement to ex-fiance Camille Aznar, they quickly announced their engagement in April 2006 and tied the knot last August in a lavish ceremony covered by a celebrity magazine.

They broke up only 10 months after they married, with critics claiming the whirlwind romance was merely a publicity stunt, with the previously unknown Chantelle becoming a household name over night.

Essex-born Chantelle revealed that moving away from her family to live in Brighton following her fairytale marriage last August, was the main factor that led to the premature breakdown of her relationship.

She said: "I found living in Brighton very hard...I had no family, no friends and it was a really hard time for me."
Chantelle said at the time it was a mutual decision: "We both said, we can't do this any more, we can't go on hurting each other like this."

The Ordinary Boys singer Preston, 25, has since rekindled his romance with Camille Aznar, 26 — whom he dumped for Chantelle.

Chantelle, Preston divorce in 90 seconds

Chantelle Houghton and Samuel Preston ended their 15-month marriage with a 90-second divorce yesterday.

The Celebrity Big Brother 4 stars were not present at the event, which took place at First Avenue House in North London.

Houghton was granted the quick divorce settlement by Judge Alistair Bassett Cross because of the "unreasonable behaviour" of her husband.

The Ordinary Boys singer did not contest the divorce.

Preston and Houghton got married in August 2006 after an April engagement, and were reportedly paid £300,000 by OK! magazine for the rights to their wedding photos.
