Default about reality tv shows

Hi!

I just read in a Finnish tv guide about two British reality tv shows that sounded a bit weird: There's something about Miriam and Shattered. What were they like, in your opinion?

Never really saw them Merv. The idea of Shattered was contestants staying awake without getting sleep, and having to complete tasks consisting of attempts to break their staying power such as boring monotone lectures. If they closed their eyes longer than 10 seconds, they lost money. Not sure on the other one. Sorry.

Soomething About Miriam is actually and American show but is currently airing on one of our digital channels (can't remember which one ) I've never watched it but have seen several trailers for it. The premise of the show is that several guys are trying to win a date with Miriam - what they don't know though is that 'Miriam' was originally a man and has had a sex-change operation. This show doesn't appeal to me at all and I have never watched it.

I really enjoyed 'Shattered', as Andy said it was all about how long you could stay awake and the effect that this had on you. A group of contestants lived together 'Big Brother like' for a week (I think it was a week, it may have been slightly longer) and they weren't allowed to sleep (they were actually allowed small sleep breaks as the week progressed but they had very little sleep) It was interesting to see how people coped in this situation. They were given tasks to do and had visiors each night training them how to do various things.

There's some pictures from Shattered here. I thought it was a really interesting show.

Quite agree James - Shattered was something very different reality tv-wise. More of a scientific experiment, but quite entertaining.
