He’s still reigning supreme at number one, but X Factor winner Leon Jackson isn’t quite as popular as he might think – not only has singer Amy MacDonald blasted him as “lazy” for cancelling his New Year gig due to a bad throat, but now a Glaswegian club owner has accused him of being greedy. The singer was due to perform at Campus in Glasgow – his home town – over Christmas, but owner Carlo Citti cancelled him at the last minute when he found out that Leon wanted £25,000 to sing just three songs. “Leon’s agents have greedy-itis,” fumes Carlo. “It wasn’t just his festive price either. They told me the fee would be the same for other days over coming months. I think it’s ridiculous when I can get David Hasselhoff for £15,000, Peter Andre and Jordan for £3,000, rapper Coolio for £3,000, The MacDonald Brothers for £2,500 and Neighbours’ Dr Karl Kennedy for the same. Only Girls Aloud charge £25,000 for a gig – and there’s five of them!” Whatever, we’ve been distracted by the talk of Dr Karl – now, what household appliances can we sell to get him to perform in our front room?

Another over reaction from Heat World. Amy McDonald has already let her feeling on the X Factor as a whole be known, so she has hardly going to be supportive.

Also, why blame Leon? It isn't him that is saying "give me £25,000" - It's his management who want a bigger share of the money. Plus, I think this more about this man not wanting to pay £25,000 for Leon. Mr Citti, thats the price of talent.

Amy is a good singer. Leon wouldn't have got anywhere without X-Factor whearas Amy managed to get into the music industry without being on a reality tv show.

Leon can't help it if he is unwell, he has to protect his vocals so he can't risk damaging them. As for this Club manager, it's not Leon's fault blame his agents and managers but not him.

On the matter of Amy, I'm not keen on her i can't get into her music at all.

Agreed. Just because she doesn't like the "sacred Leon", doesn't mean she should be attacked as a result. We all know Leon's crap anyway

I don't think she is being "attacked", people just giving there opinion on her as she is giving her opinion on Leon.

Ive heard her once or twice I think, but I don't dislike her.

I don't think Amy McDonald is really established enough in the music industry to start slating other artists, but whatever. I think it's unfair on everybody that Leon's management are demanding so much money - it means he can't perform, people can't see him and people think he's being greedy. Leon himself won't be earning very much when he starts out, a lot of that fee would go to various managers and people working with Leon.

im not fussed on either of them however i dont think its leon himself demanding that much money so people shouldnt have a go at him for that and as for that Amy i bet half the country have never even heard of her so maybe she shoudl keep her thoughts to herself.

This was bound to happen. Leon doesn't have the talent to demand that kind of money. Who cares if it's his managment and not him?
He needs to seriously evaluate his ability - or lack of it - and decide what kind of image he wants to put out.
