Default Dermot speaks about Celebrity Hijack reaction

From Metro...

Quote:
Dermot calls for Celebrity Big Brother to be axed

by ANDREI HARMSWORTH - Thursday, February 21, 2008

Celebrity Big Brother presenter Dermot O'Leary has all but confessed that BB fans have seen the last of the Celebrity version of the reality show.

Slurring his words at Sony's Brit's bash at the Park Lane Hilton's roof top Galvin's bar he revealed: 'I didn't feel like Celebrity Hijack deserved the flack from the press that it got this year.'

'It really p*ssed me off how it was compared to when the series was on Channel 4.

'That's like comparing a corner shop to a Sainsbury's. It just wasn't fair.'

But when we asked if he was willing to stand by another series, he conceded: 'I don't know if there should be another one, maybe not. Maybe. We shall wait and see.'

Meanwhile across the room, his equally sozzled Big Brother side-kick, Davina McCall, distanced herself from the death of the show all together.

The 40 year-old said: 'I had nothing to with Celebrity Hijack. So I take no responsibility for it.

'We'll be back with Big Brother this year. Big Brother's not finished yet.'

The mum of three then had a little moan about having to leave her little tykes at home, sadly hoping they could come out and party.

I agree with Dermot!

People comparing it to a actual BB and like it was on Channel 4 is unfair.
The show was supposed to be a experiment, and I think it worked.Others probably think differently and I respect that.

Who cares if he stands by the show or not? He left the presenting team after all...

Dermot's only saying that now cause he's no longer working for them. I hate it when Presenters make out they are 'revealing all'. If Dermot was working for BB, this article wouldn't even exsist. It's just to keep in the papers.

It'd be a shame if they didn't at least do another BB:CH. I thought it did really well to say it was only really shown on E4. I thought it was much better than the normal Celebrity Big Brother's. Hopefully they'll do another one next year!

Nah, theres tonnes of tell tale signs that the show will go on for at least another series,

Plot renewal
C4, hanging onto it
No mention of not having a BB9
and also I think it was even confirmed their could be series up to at least BB11 lol

Yeah, BBCH was something new - but, I can see why this reaction sprung... I didn't really get the satisfaction from the house as I expected - simply because I was expecting secret missions, secret rooms, people getting split up... a few more suprise things.
