Default Normal people for BB9?

I've been reading the BB official forums lately and alot of people are seeming to ask for Normal and calm people. I think this would make the show very boring. A house full of Georges or Billi's?

We need to look back at the BB5/7 housemate types. There were no real wannabes but amazing personalities. Everyone played a part! Groups formd, there was alot of fights, clashes and arguments but at the same time tonnes of fun and well being people that work well as a group

I think we need housemates with Helen/Brian/Alex/Jonny/Kate/Jon/Jason/Victor/Nadia/Michelle/Emma/Ahmed/Marco/Stewart/Shell/Makosi/Craig/Nikki/Aisylene/Grace/Richard/Lea/Sezer/Shabaz/Charley and Seany personalities.

Last years show was just a nice, shy guy/Fame convention. And what if normal people turn it into BB4 again? Thats RIP BB.

I think the normal people was last year. Kara-Louise, Emily, Liam, Carole, Nicky, Sam & Amanda, Laura, and Lesley were the normal ones. That's more than any recent season has had.

Obviously they tried an experiment (but keeping some freakshow housemates such as Jonty and Shabnam and the fame-hungry like Chanelle and Charley) and it failed. If people keep on ordering what they don't like, it's their fault.

You can call anyone 'freaks' these days if they do something different. In my opinion, everyone is 'normal' in their own right, why should they be judged.

Sometimes, i can't help but think that its best when it's all fresh, and nothings new, so a repeat of BB5 would go down well (as i know, some people are really hoping for)

By saying 'normal people' I mean people who are not like most of the BB7 housemates.

Sorry, Can someone tell me what 'normal' is?

BB6 had some 'normal' people! Lesley was 'normal'. Sam was 'normal'. Maxwell was 'normal'. Vanessa turned out 'normal'. Saskia was 'Normal'. Anthony was 'normal'. BB6 turned out to be loads of peoples favourite series ever! It doesnt mean if they are looking for normal people there not keeping a couple of crazy people too!!!

I personally think that people need to calm down a little seriously guys don't get too upset. They Might Not.

I don't think there are ever 'normal' people on BB, really... all people have weird, random sides, don't they? All they have to do is put people in the house who are more willing to show that random, weird side.

But I am with you... no more people who just sit around all day and chat. More people who are willing to do anything to win, even if it means back-stabbing and going behind other people's backs, and people who can make the show entertaining with their personalities.

I don't want normal people for BB9 because it could turn out to be like BB4. There needs to be a mixture of normal people and freaks because then groups are more likely to form and there will be more entertainment.

There just needs to be a mix of personalties.I don't understand all this talk of supposed 'normal' people as being boring, in essence you would say that plenty of the past housemates are normal but they've just got certain interesting characteristics about them.

Just find people with strong personalties from different backgrounds and you will get good entertainment.Perhaps look at finding a few more smarter housemates rather than a bunch of shallow airheads who only have views on pointless things.

I agee with Dan_. They need a blend of eccentrics and normal people. Most people who like BB5 think it had the best blend of HM's.

With the first few series we had normal people. It was a proper social experiment, because we had people who were auditioning, not really knowing what it was about. Now we have series that are full of people realising the potential that is; "A CAREER!". People aren't auditioning for the chance to be part of something any more, they are auditioning for fame, and for attention. Its a shame really.

Though, having said that, we do have quite a few normal people. They just need to find the right balance between the two, otherwise if they have too many it will be too boring. If they don't have enough it will be a bit too wackytacky.

That's been the main problem over the last few series - choosing the right people. For example they always end up putting in a few housemates who don't appreciate the experience i.e George (BB7), Laura (BB8), Tracey (BB8), I can understand that housemates might not like it once they get onto the show but to me that's just a waste, hopefully they choose a mix of different personalities, people who are prepared to go in there and have a laugh, a gameplayer maybe to spice things up and also a couple of really strong minded characters who won't let anyone stand in their way. BB5 was the perfect bunch, get anywhere close to that and it will be a cracking series.

I agree too. Particularly the point Mike makes about HM's not enjoying the experience. I think the producers should treat over the top auditions tapes like Craig(BB6), Vanessa(BB6) and Laura(BB8) with more suspicion. All of those HM's went on to pretty much make fools of themselves during BB.

Well put. I think the problem is that the show now appeals to the common mass, and they would mainly identify with these shallow stereotypes, hence always puting in a huge majority of housemates that the general public will identify with.

They need to balance out who goes in so that there's atleast one person in the house who appeals to each member of the public, to make a good show and also to get more money from the voting. They'll need a few of the 'normal' people a few of the 'freaks' and a few of the inbetweeners. I think they will also need a character who people just love to hate. I think that just putting 'normal' people in would completely ruin the show.

The boring, do nothing layabouts that escape nomination and are usually first out in the final. The ones that do'nt contribute anything to the series and are focused on the least during their stay and that you forget about the week after they're gone.

Aside from BB1 and BB2 because they don't count because they are from the social experiment era, the only series' to have normal housemates are BB4 and BB8. I don't need to say anymore.

Like Imogen, Susie, Traci, Jennie, Elizabeth, ALL of BB4 bar Ray, Anthony, Samanda.

I'd like a cast of Lip Gloss bitches, Team Diva, The Plastics, Victor and then some nice but interesting hms like Shell, Ray and Kate.

Normal doesn't necesserily mean boring. BB3 was normal people and nearly everyone of them was entertaining and added to the show in some way.

BB5 had a few over the top characters, but then it also had a few normal, down to earth types who were just as entertaining.

So normal doesn't always equate to boring and I'd much rather normal than fame hungry wannabes.

Plus you choose Billi and George as your examples of normal?! George was dull yes, but Billi at least tried to be entertaining, he wanted to play the game and got into a fair few arguments with Charley during his short stay. He wanted to be like Victor but sadly didn't have the charm or the skill, but at least he tried to do something a bit different to what the rest of the housemates in BB8 were doing.

Reading through the replies you can see everyone has a different perception as to what "normal" is.

What BB needs to avoid are so called normal people who pretend to be abnormal. Silly dressers and over the top sexuality behavour for example.

CH4 all too often put in good looking lassies then feed them with men they could not possibly fancy.....Thus limited relationships and we finish up usually with one romancing couple who the public can't wait to break up and kill the series.

With attractive women we need attractive men and let nature take its course of Love/lust and jelousy...Then BB can kick off.......
