Default Teenagers In Big Brother 9!!!!

I am 16 and lots of my freinds ,want to go on big brother but we have to wait until we are 18.

I think that big brother should allow 2-3 teenagers go into the house for the duration of the summer holidays .They are not allowed to win but they are in there just for the fun of it.They though a week before the final night have a teen winner they could win loads of good stuff i do not know what.

What do you think Teenagers (Non ASBO) in Big Brother 9?

Tom

They do put teenagers in the house eighteen and nineteen year olds. We had Teen Big Brother. Mixing underage people and adults wouldn't be a good move in my opinion.

errrm are you high? I would hate to see a bunch of wannabe teenagers ruin a good programme. Go sign up to some CBBC Dick and Dom week or something...

One other thing. It would be illegal to do this making it impossible.

Non ASBO? Phh. You just want yourself in the house. Beyond that , theirs no debate. Theirs no way they would let under 18's in summers Big Brother.

They hardly put any teens in anyway. Fewer means none at all?

Same. Ifact that could go for most people within Chanelle or the twins, Glyns or Jennies age range. Them types never contribute anything to any series.

If they put people under 18 in the house then if they smoke or drank then think about how many people would ring in and it could possibly be taken of air due to big brother giving them the stuff

Brian, Twins, Chanelle and Glyn all contributed to their respective series' quite a lot. I think its a very ageist view when people say teens shouldn't go in- some provide good entertainment. You can't generalise any age. Carole was old and boring. Stereotypically old people are boring, but Lesley was one of the best housemates in BB8.

Point taken but sixteen year old dont have as much life experience as someone older. On the other hand an older person will probably consider themselves a parent to the younger members. The ideal age for a HM's is 20-30. People of that age have actually done a few things in their lives but still have a sense of fun.

I'd say most 16 year olds that would apply wouldn't be ready to deal with being on a show like Big Brother and end up regretting it in years to come.Just let them grow up a bit and apply when they're adults.

Besides wouldn't 16 year olds not be allowed to go on the show without parental consent?

Oh definitely not 16 year olds. 18 is the youngest, especially as we have seen some of the youngest housemates being incredibly naive.

The problem with young people school age is there are loads of regulations in the Children (Performances) Regulations of 1968. For starters the young people under school age would have to be in the care of a Approved Matron and approval wouldn't probably be given for them to be on camera 24/7 which would make a nonsense of the format.

As for people under 18 on Big Brother that can cause problems to. For example they would have to remove the alcohol from the house and the producers would have to be careful not to allow homosexual sex between men less than 18 years old.

Also Ofcom states in its regulations that:

1.26 Due care must be taken over the physical and emotional welfare and the dignity of people under eighteen who take part or are otherwise involved in programmes. This is irrespective of any consent given by the participant or by a parent, guardian or other person over the age of eighteen in loco parentis.

1.27 People under eighteen must not be caused unnecessary distress or anxiety by their involvement in programmes or by the broadcast of those programmes.

Which really begs the question would it be worth the risk to have people under the age of 18 in the show?

What you have said is just the best post in the thread - however the legal age for gay sex is 16 just like straight sex.

Unless you are in Northern Ireland where it is 17 (according to THT: Information resource)

Where is also say's the following:
Quote:
Pictures & videos

Under the Protection of Children Act 1978 (amended 1994) it is illegal to take, make, own, show or share images (including videos) of children and young people under 18 involved in sexual activity or posing in a provocative way.
Which would be an effective sex ban.

Are you sure it hasn't been reverted? Its something we did about last week in Theology and we were given the figure of it being 18, not 16.
