Default Launch Night

What sort of Launch Night, do you want it to be? Any twists?
I want Davina to be in the house at the start and give the tour and then go out to the crowds

I would like something different on launch night. Each housemate to have to change into fancy dress before they walk down those stairs only to be possibly laughed at as they get welcomed.

They should replace Davina for the tour that would be a rather good twist

Heres mine

(26th May 2008)

7.55pm - Davina: 'Spend the last 5 minutes of your summer carefully'

8.00pm - Davina gives us her infamous launch opening line standing infront of the doors. The titles roll.

8.01pm - Davina standing where the black cars pull up and walks to her platform past the crowd dissing the biggest rumours.

8.02pm - A clip showing the History of Big Brother UK is shown on the large TV. Featuring all the normal series/celeb series/CH

8.06pm - Davina talks a little about the open auditions. A clip of all the weird and funny auditions is shown mixed up with facts. The clip finishes with teaser shots of some of the new housemates.

8.10pm - Clip finishes and Davina appears inside the house on the screen. She's sitting on the stairs into the house. She gets up and begins the tour around the house. Starting in the Main area, and going around the house giving away random facts and maybe announcing a few secrets. She finished waiting to get to the Diary room, in which traditionally she isn't shown until the first time any other veiwer would get to see it. The house designer is in the Diary room and she asks him a few questions about the house. She asks if we want some housemates. The first ad break.

8.20pm - Davina standing ontop of the exterior staircase, annouces the first housemate. A housemates VT is played, showing their audtition and usual VT clips with a small insight into their daily life. This continues for each housemate.

9. 35pm - After all the housemates are in, Davina is sitting in the Diary room. She remind us not to miss Big Brothers Big Mouth in half an hour on E4, with continuous live coverage straight after that for the rest of the night (As usual after a launch)

9.36pm - Live coverage until 9.45pm. The spilt screen titles begin to roll.

9.45pm - Off air.

Duration 7.55pm - 9.45pm (2hrs 40mins)

before the opening line, have a 2 minute flashback to the highlights of the past 8 series....then cut to Davina, who says "fancy doing it all again?"

credits roll

Davina introduces the series, and we take a brief look at how the final 14 have spend the day preparing for the launch

Cut to Davina sat in the garden. She tours the house finishing in the diary room. "join us after the break when we'll be filling the house with housemates!"

break

Then enter the housemates. Apparently the "official BB" on the C4 forums said that the entrance process would differ to prevent booing on the way in. I think that Davina will say "it's time to meet our first housemate. Ladies and Gentelen, it's...X" and then the housemate will get out of the limo, and enter the house. Once inside, the VT of that housemate will be shown.

I think that will stop a lot of the booing on launch night; wait until the HM is inside until you show the VT.

Do people like that idea?

I would love a real good launch night twist. Something like Makosi's unlucky 13 twist, but something bigger and better.

Get all BB winners, Hide them in the house and they scare the housemates rotten when they get in.

I'd personally like to see no launch night twist.....just let them settle in! Allow them to get to know eachother before you throw a spanner in the works.

Launch on Thursday, have a Sunday night twist.

Everyone's really wanting amazing twists but I'd just like to see them dumped, bar one or two. BB6/7/8, the "twists" seemed to be churned out every week so that they lost any impact.

Booing on the way out is OK I suppose...

but why do you like booing on the way in? the crowd know nothing about these people and yet they decide to boo them! The crowd boo the conifdnent, attractive women. They cheer the confident attractive men.

It's all jealousy!

If we had 14 or more houseguests I think they need to go in in groups rather than one by one - it gets too repetitive otherwise.

Definitely keep the music though like they had in Hijack, and perhaps play the VT after they go in the house so they're not booed on their way in - or perhaps rather than Davina doing a voice over as they walk through the crowd we here the housemate talking about themselves.

Also, an absolute must but straight to live streaming on E4 - absolutely no need for a first night Big Mouth when there is very little to discuss. We'd all much rather be forming our own opinions on the housemates from the live feed.

I agree with others, I hate the booing on the way in. I hate the booing on the way out too unless it is completely necessary. But yeah, a housemate shouldn't be booed on the way in after an edited two minute VT, I mean give the person a chance!

Exactly.

As for launch night twists - depends on the twist really - the Makosi thing was brilliant, as was Chantelle - but it's not been bettered. It shouldn't be like Hijack either and set someone up for an obvious win.

The best thing to do is to reveal a twist or two to viewers - but not to the housemates.

I know its a second house twist and nobody wants them but if they did the white room twist from Big Brother Australia as a launch night twist, could that work? It could be done by having 2 doors are the bottom of the stairs and when three have gone through the wrong door and into the white room that door becomes locked and everyone else goes into the main house. That would be a good twist.

I'm in agreement on booing on the way in but I don't mind it on the way out. IMO, if a housemate is boring or is a panto villain then they deserve to be booed. Booing happened so much last year because most of them fitted into one of these two categories.

That's an interesting way of doing things - I love the idea of having two doors which determine their fate completely at random.

Default bb9 launch

everyone knows there is fifteen housenmates entering one tempermental housemate should be told he/she can evict 4 housemates but they really get sent in the next door.3 days later the four people and the person who sent them into the next door house and the 4 people enter a little room with cusions stuck to the wall then the 4 people must make a speech and the person who sent them next door choose to really evict one but that person comes back 2 weeks.
