DEFIANT Channel 4 bosses last night defended themselves after it was revealed Daniel Bryan and Kitten Pinter know each other.

The show had claimed it brought together 12 strangers in the house but the pair are old pals from the clubbing scene.

However, a Big Brother spokeswoman said it did not mean that the show was fixed.

She insisted: 'They don't know each other well, it was more of a coincidence than anything.

'We were aware that they were vague acquaintances who mixed in the same group.'

She said the producers picked contestants because of their characters and said that, in future, there could be other people who know each other in the show.
