Default Reality bites for Channel 4

Quote:
There was a dip in form for reality TV favourites Wife Swap and Big Brother last night, as both dropped around 500,000 viewers from their ratings on the same evening last week.

Channel 4’s reality night started at 9pm with Wife Swap which pulled in 4.4 million viewers on average, a share of 20.5%.

More voyeuristic pleasure followed with Big Brother at 10pm, which was also down on the previous week, losing 500,000 viewers with its average audience of 5.2 million. Its share was 26.3%.

They only have themselves to blame for turning BB5 in to cell block H again like they did with BB3. It's a big big turn off.....

5.2 million still makes it Channel 4's most popular programme. BB6 is a certainty - unless C4 execs get cold feet because of the excesses of fight night.

I can't see them being put off of BB6, they would have been had this years BB had rubbish viewing figures.

The fight will go down as one of the great BB moments. I unashamedly loved every second of it.

The drop in viewing figures follows Vic's exit from the house. It's been very boring since he left (as what was expected really.)

I think part of the reason for the drop is the fact that it is coming to the end and once again the majority of the housemates left are the 'boring' ones. People are not interested in watching the romance - there's no "will they, wont they" we already know they have. Though if Stuart stood up for himself and stopped being such a wimp that might bring the viewers back cos Michelle would then show her true colours.
