SHE netted £63,500 for winning Big Brother but now transsexual Nadia Almada wants an even bigger prize...A HUSBAND!

In her first interview since emerging from the House to rapturous applause Nad told the News of the World that her fantasy is a huge white wedding.

"It's every girl's dream," she sighed. "So now I'm on the lookout for Mr Right.

"I want a partner—someone to share my thoughts and companionship with. He'd have to be sensitive, kind, trusting...someone willing to share all that stuff."

Nadia, 27, who hasn't had a man since her gender switch last December, continued: "Sex would come with it of course.

"I have missed it as I haven't had it for a while because of what I've been through."

Then she added mysteriously: "But I have had recent intimate moments."

Portuguese Nad, looking casually fab-o-lus in jeans and black top yesterday, admitted that one of the reasons she went into the BB house was to find love.

And at first she thought she'd done just that with, of all people, JASON.

She told us: "Love was something I have been deprived of and when I first went into the house, I was attracted to Jason. I thought he was good looking.

"Then we got to know each other and we didn't really work."

Nadia, from Woking, Surrey, famed for wearing stilettos in the shower, says she plans to spend some of her winnings on clothes and shoes.

But first she's looking forward to catching up with her friends and her mum Conceicao, who greeted her in an emotional TV reunion as she left the House.

They hadn't seen each other for a year, since Nadia's first traumatic trip home to Madeira after she became a woman.

"I can't believe my mum came to see me," said Nad. "She said she was proud of me."

Yesterday Nadia told how winning Big Brother meant so much to her as she battles to be fully accepted as a transsexual.Bank clerk Nadia, who won Big Brother with 74 per cent of the vote, screamed with delight saying: "There are no words that describe the happiness I'm feeling. Knowing the public loves me is the greatest feeling.

" Being accepted is much better than winning money. It was about having the acceptance I was craving for. I am totally flattered and I feel very worthy."

Nadia said that another reason for going on the show was to "reassure myself that I could achieve something."

And she revealed she had no regrets about keeping her sex change a secret from housemates. "I did that so that I could believe I was a woman rather than be singled out as something else," she said.

"It was very hard as there were times when I had to lie a little bit and I didn't want to lie at all.

"I remember a particular moment when we were talking about children. I can't give birth at all and I was asked why not.

"I thought to myself, ‘Oh my God.' I don't like lying but I felt I would jeopardise my experience if I told everyone the real reason. I had to say I had something wrong with me."

Nadia appreciates that hiding the truth is no longer an option. "It will be different now," she says. "I won't have to lie."

She is determined to change the way transsexuals are treated and blasted the recent programme There Is Something About Miriam, which set men up with a pre-op transsexual.

"It's offensive to people like us, trying to gain respect for who we are," said Nadia.

THE News of the World presented Nadia with a gift of her favourite fags yesterday. Nad visibly relaxed after a drag saying: "Thank you so much. I needed that!"
