The gang vs the Van DAVID Van Day has turned the I’m A Celebrity camp into the set of Lord Of The Flies.
Contestants are reeling after Nicola McLean uncovered the 80s singer’s plot to win by deliberately winding people up and hogging air time.
In William Golding’s Lord of the Flies boys marooned on an island turn into savages and attack each other.
David earlier revealed to Nicola that he though Joe was favourite to win and he asked her to help wind him up to win some of his votes. She refused. The back-stabbing came out when David went to get the celebrity chest with Simon.
Martina said: “If there’s any justice, David will be gone tomorrow.”
Joe, deeply hurt, said: “What does my head in most is that he has been here 14 days and 14 day’s I’ve campaigned for him — I’ve stood up for him. Now he wants to make me jealous. That’s low.”
Nicola chipped in: “People like David are just so desperate for a career afterwards — it’s ‘last chance saloon’ for him.”
She later said: “Joe is such a nice boy and he has been gullible, but he said he would have been the same on the outside world, because he believed it. Now he has started to see that David was just acting.”
Joe added: “There’s playing a game and then there’s dragging someone in trying to trip them up, he tried to use me.”
Even mild-mannered George called David a “snake in the grass”.
He added: “He’s basically a manipulator.”
Simon arrived back harassed by David after he spent hours digging to release the chest. The ex-Blue singer said: “He kept trying to get in shot.”
