Default Do you want it to work out?

Now that dust is settling on BB5 we should be turning back to other things.

After BB2 it took a while before we knew if Paul and Helen would get on in the real world, especially after the cynics, (including certain BB2 housemates), said it was only for the show.

(Well they have not yet tied the knot giving the cynics some lingering hope I suppose )

We were hungry for news, and some still are

Any hue

That was then and this is now

Michelle and Stuart (waits for groans - from the readership that is - to subside) was described as Paul and Helen but turbocharged.

From all of the comments about them, there is a lot of cynicism that it will last as long as Helen and Paul, with a lot of hope that Team Handsom will ride in and save sherref Stu from the evil temptress (etc)

In 2001 there was a lot of people Willing the relationship between Paul and Helen to succeed. In 2004 it seems that there is more an eagerness for the Michelle and Stuart relationship to fail.

Is this the case?

I would like it to succeed if only because of all those who posted such vitriolic hatred of someone they had never met.

I thought it was interesting what Stu's sister said during winners week.... while in the house she didn't like the relationship.... now she has seen the pair together they seem so in love.

The looked happy together during winners week and stu was more comfortable with the relationship now it outside the house.

I hope they have a long relationship.... not just a couple of weeks or months.

I've voted who cares as I'm not bothered if it works for them or not.My only worry is that they are putting money from interviews before their relationship. We don't yet know if this is a mistake or not only time will tell.
I just get this terrible feeling that they are going to be a twin version of Jadeselling everything to the press.
I never really liked either of them in the house but wouldn't say I hate them either.I wouldn't want them to be unhappy.
I still 3 years on love to hear about Helen and Paul as I liked both of them and was willing them to get together
I would like to think that Stuart and Michelle have a future but it wouldn't bother me if they didn't.I'm just simply not as fond of them.

Well I love them both and did from the beginning!!!!. Their editing was awful, channel4 had obviously decided to portray Mich as a predator! Anybody watching E4 24 hours a day(that would be me then!) could see he adored her!!!Pauly Wauly's editing at times was atrocious in BB2 as well. I think they choose who's going to be the hero and the villain in these things.

They still seem very relaxed in each others' company out of the house and I think this could work you know. They will need to hire a private jet though!!!

I hope Stuart is allowed to return to university and to run free with Team Handsome, with the wind coursing through his tousled mane. I hope he remains as laidback and good-natured as he appears. If he can do all this with Michelle in the background fair enough, and good luck to both of them.

However, I have to say I am not concerned either way. The difference between them and P&H as I have said before is that they were full on from more or less the beginning. The other housemates were incredibly tolerant of them, and there wasn't a vendetta to get one of them out. We never had to wonder, 'Will they?'

It was more: 'Oh, please God, not again'

Sorry Chilled, I think Michelle's propensity to white stiletto's and the Croydon facelift will eventually jar with the tres middle class Stuart

Well I hope for the sake of Stuarts mental maturity he stays a million miles away from team ugly....Bunch of laddy children...

I hope it works out for them but statistics for modern day relationships don't bode well for them having a long term future with each other. especiall as he is so young in years and mentally.

If Michelle likes dating 12 year olds and Stuart likes dating someone that can rule him like a mother figure then they should both be just fine for the next 90 days or so.....

Back to the original question: Depends what you mean by "work out". Does that mean get married and spend the rest of their lives together? Keep it going for 3 years? 6 months?

I was off sick for much of the second half of BB5. I swore I would not watch it this year but I succumbed. I saw much of the daytime highlights, and one thing I was totally sure of: Michelle had fallen for Stuart, no question. Was this reciprocated? I eventually decided "yes". Stuart was very reticent to talk about his feelings on TV but what little he did say suggested it was for real.

The editing of the last couple of weeks was atrocious. I'll give you an example.

Live Feed: Michelle, talking to Nadia, Stuart also sitting with them. Shell asks for help with the bread and Stuart volunteers. Some considerable time later, Michelle goes into the house (she told Nadia she had to get something). As she walks past the kitchen area, Stuart comes over and grabs her. She pushes Stuart away, and tells Stuart that he'd rather be with "the other Michelle". Stuart initially looks shocked, Michelle grins, and they have a hug and kiss. Then Stuart continues with Shell and the bread, Michelle continues on her way.

C4 Edited Version: Michelle talking to Nadia, Stuart also sitting with them. Shell asks for help with the bread an Stuart volunteers. (CUT) Michelle (immediately) goes into the house. You do not see Stuart walk over to the end of the worktop so it appears that Michelle has walked directly towards him. You do not see Stuart's initial grab at Michelle either, so all you see is Michelle jealously going on about "the other Michelle" and getting her own way with the hug and kiss. The scene ends there.

Plenty of instances of Stuart sneaking up behind Michelle and grabbing her etc, but they only ever showed Michelle following Stuart around on the highlights.

So having seen a fuller view from the daytime feed, they do seem happy together so I hope it works out for them. Whatever that precisely means!

Completely agree with you oldgit. That whole Michelle waiting for Stu in the snug thing was the biggest farce. He got the key for them to go in there. Then he waited for an hour for her but she was comforting Shell. So he spoke to Victor and J. Mich then went to get changed and Stu started talking to Dan. He told Dan he had been waiting for Mich and that he was going to find her to see if she wanted to "chill out in the snug". He then went to search for her and she was in the snug. But guess what footage Channel 4 showed. Just Mich alone in her one sided relationship!!!

Lets face it C4 wanted her out as she was a threat to Nardia the chosen one.

Strangely enough, Sticks, I didn't really have a problem with Nadia being "the chosen one", she was my second favourite after Michelle, and for much the same reason. Big personality, no hiding behind a mask, all good points and bad points on public display.

But C4/Endemol had given her the "maneater" storyline before all that, by showing her chasing Stuart constantly but rarely showing when Stuart was the initiator.

Still Michelle seems to have won the prize she was after, as well as being top earner to date from BB5.

i want stuart to FINALLY realise that he was better off "on the pull" rather than chained down. he's barely an adult yet and he's already in a relationship that is impossible to back down from. the second the media get a sniff about a break up and EVERYONE will hear about it. i want stuart to become a real boy again
