BIG BROTHER
Day 3

7.08am
Having gone to bed at 11pm, SANDY is first up and heads straight into the garden for a quick dip in the pool. Once in he paces around and around occasionally whistling and muttering to himself. At 43, personal shopper SANDY is the oldest housemate yet, having a ripe 23-year advantage on some of his fellow contestants. Maybe he enjoys the peace and quiet or maybe he’s missing his normal exercise routine, as he claims he usually cycles an average of 12 miles per day.

9.44am
The rest of the housemates are awake except SPENCER and SUNITA. Despite another late night, LYNNE still finds the energy to lead the girls through an impromptu exercise session in the girls’ bedroom which soon falls into disarray as they fall about laughing.

11.28
SPENCER is still asleep, so the rest of the housemates decide it’s time to wake him up. They ponder whether to tickle his feet. Alex decides that’s definitely a bad idea “Have you seen what’s growing on his feet?” he asks. After much deliberation they finally creep in and squirt toothpaste all over his face before rushing out in hysterics. SPENCER seems quite bemused. SANDY, who didn’t take part, takes pity on sticky SPENCER “ I used to do that, when I was 15 and a half and had just joined the army!” he says.

The housemates were given £210 to spend on provisions. When they arrive, the housemates are so excited they can’t decide what to eat first. ALISON and JONNY quickly take to the kitchen to prepare lunch, whilst the others amuse themselves with some impromptu rapping.

8.14pm
Whilst SUNITA and JADE make chocolate and cheese bread, Big Brother calls SANDY into the diary room to ask him how he’s getting on. “At the moment it’s like a bad package holiday,” he replies. For the moment SANDY seems quite overcome with the energy of the other younger housemates and the “effervescence of youth,” but tells Big Brother he feels quite chilled out and that he’s sure his experience will get better with time. He doesn’t think the other housemates know what to make of him yet but feels he has forged a bond with SPENCER and admits he finds JADE “quite sweet.”

ALISON sets the housemates a task. Each is to select a partner and act out as many sexual positions as possible. First up are ALISON and SANDY who soon have the rest of the group crying with laughter. KATE and ALEX take to the challenge with energy with JADE and PJ not too far behind, but a noticeable absentee was SUNITA who refused to take part.

1.44am
Whilst SANDY, LYNNE, SUNITA and ADELE decide to turn in for the night, the others stay up chatting. The group announce that they’re devastated anyone will have to leave….except SPENCER who tells the rest he will much prefer being in the house when a few of them have gone and there’s more space. “I like sitting around and doing nothing,” he says.
