Resident Evil Degeneration is out to buy now I think. There were rumours of another Tomb Raider and actual movements in the project but it's been silent on that front for a while plus with Angelina taking a break from acting soon I can't see it happening.

Hopefully no on both accounts, as pretty much every one of those films in both franchises bar perhaps RE : Extinction were utter wank.

I think they're all kinda guilty pleasure films. I think they are fun with the exception of Resident Evil Apocalypse, and the second Tomb Raider.

It annoys me how fans say that Resident Evil Apocalypse was the worse...but that remains more true to the games than any other

They're all good, just nothing beats the first one. Apocolypse is different, but is still very good. Its is very game like.

Hence why it was the worst, IMO. Great games dont equal great movies. I also agree with Dezzy on the second Tomb Raider movie being the worst.

But most fans hate the movies because they're not based on the games. It's just stupid, Apocalypse is more like the games (Is it the 3rd game with nemesis?) than any of them.

Tomb Raider 2 was good...but not as good as the 2st

True point. Video game nerds tend to be fickle. Besides, it is all up to whose hands the film has been put in. At least with Uwe Boll movies you get the perverse pleasure of how bad they are because they dont take themselves too seriously. Resident Evil took itself painfully serious, which made most of the lines utterly painful to watch, in turn.

You sort of responded to your own quesiton. People put down these films because they are marmite films. Some people love them, the majority of people over the age of twenty hate them. The film industry needs to churn out video game adaptations that appeal beyond the actual market said game has, in order to be accepted. Right now video game movies are sort of the in-joke of Hollywood.

Here's an article with the director confirming a new movie

[b]MOVIE director Paul Anderson has revealed plans for a new trilogy . . . three children with his screen siren fiancee Milla Jovovich.

The happy couple celebrated the birth of their first child — baby daughter Ever — last November, and the Newcastle-born film-maker says he loves fatherhood so much that they are already planning to extend their family.

He said: “It’s the best thing that ever happened to me. I love it.

“Three children would be ideal . . . but you never know once we get into the swing of it!

“In fact, we are back in Paris right now, the city of Ever’s manufacture on Valentine’s Day last year.”

Paul and Milla first met eight years ago when he directed her as his leading lady in the blockbuster film Resident Evil, and they make annual trips back to the North from their home in Los Angeles to visit the former Royal Grammar School pupil’s relatives.

Last week, Paul was in the UK to promote his latest film Death Race — a modern day adaptation of the classic Death Race 2000, this time starring Jason Statham — and he also managed to spend some time with family.

He said: “Milla, Ever and I were just in Newcastle last week to meet my nana and take Ever to see her.

“Family is very important to both Milla and myself, so we try and spend as much time with them as possible . . . it just means a lot of flying. Milla loves the North of England, so we spend a chunk of time up there every year and all stay in my mum’s flat in Gosforth. We went to Alnwick Castle and the gardens, which they both loved.

“My mum also travels and helps out with the baby when she can. Milla made the movie A Perfect Getaway in Puerto Rico earlier in the year, so my mum was there for the whole shoot to help with Ever.”

Paul recalled when he almost missed the birth of baby Ever because the little tot was due to be born as he was shooting the final scenes of Death Race.

He said: “The whole cast and crew were on red alert for when I received the call to fly home.

“Milla called in the middle of a shooting day . . . three days before wrap.

“I walked off the set, got on a plane — the longest plane ride of my life — and got back to Los Angeles in time to take Milla to hospital.

“Ever was born the following morning. I spent a week with the girls and then had to fly back to Montreal to finish filming.

“I finished shooting at 7am, got in a car to the airport and flew home. I couldn’t wait to get back to my girls!

“I put the cutting room in our guest house, at the bottom of the driveway, so it was a great editing experience.”

Paul may be enjoying being a dad, but he is already busy with plans for several films, including a return to his most popular franchise, Resident Evil.

He added: “I’m writing an adaptation of the Long Good Friday right now, set in present-day Miami. Then I will probably write Resident Evil 4.”
