A pet pig was reportedly found seeking refuge in a bathtub after setting its owner's house on fire.

Firefighters called to the scene believe that the animal set the Swedish property on fire by knocking over a table lamp.

Trapped and alone in the Lulea property, the Vietnamese pot-bellied pig is thought to have leapt into the bathtub to escape the flames.

According to Ananova, the animal was found by emergency workers singed but still alive.

"We initially thought it was arson as no-one was home but then we found the scorched but still alive pig and the broken lamp and realised what had happened," said fireman Peter Frykman.
