how about Working class hero by John Lennon.

Or Hurt by Nine Inch Nails.

There is an endless selection from Depeche Mode.

Black Celebration.

Blasphmous Rumors

Fly on the windscreen.

Kylie Minogue and Nick Cave, Where the wild roses grow.

I have to stop as I am going to top myself.

Never heard it before. *shrug*

I'd probably say it's Johnny Cash's cover of "Hurt" (I haven't heard the NIN original version). But Coldplay's "The Scientist", Eric Clapton's "Tears From Heaven" (especially considering the meaning) and Aqualung's "Good Times Gonna Come" are equally for me.
