Default The Grand National [Mon Mome just about beats Black Apalachi]

It's the world's most famous jumps race but picking a winner from a 40-strong field in the Grand National can deter even the most ardent of punters.

However, with all of the different ways of having a bet on the race finding the winner of the Aintree spectacular can be financially rewarding, as well as being a sure way to impress your friends.

Yes, luck plays an enormous part each year and the history of the race is marked with tales of horses and riders snatching defeat from the jaws of seemingly-assured victory.

----------------

Anyone putting any bets on?

Yes

Am doing

£10 on Butlers cabin Because Tony Mccoy is the jokey

And probbaly about £5 on comply or die - Bit of a stupid bet really since the only horse to ever win back to back grand nationals is red rum

McCoy rode Butler’s Cabin to victory in the Irish Grand National in 2007, when the 14-1 shot held off Nine de Sivola and win by a length.

McCoy said after that victory: "Any horse that can win over four miles at Cheltenham and then win an Irish National is obviously very special."

After reading the review on the grand national site, I'm stuck between 7

1. Black Apalachi - Won races this year
2. Snowy Morning - Third last year. Trained for this race
3. Offshore Account
4. Rambling Minister
5. Hear the Echo - Predicted winner
6. War of Attrition - Similar to #1
7. L'Ami - Good jumper

Going to put about £8 on Black Apalachi, then £2 on 2-5, and £1 on 6-7

hmm i don't like watching it [incase a horse falls or summet] but i always place a £2 bet every year rofl. Not sure who to choose yet, usually go for one with good-ish odds but never the favourite.

This used to be family tradition when a kid, we all got to bet £2 and we kept the winnings. Don't really bother with it anymore.

I used to love horse racing, I used to go and watch 'em with my aunte and she'd place bets for me. I find it dull nowadays. Good luck to anyone with bets though.
