Default The lyrics to “Human” by The Killers

What do they mean by “Are we human, or are we dancer”?

It's from a quote by the journalist Hunter S Thompson. Something like, 'America is raising a generation of dancers.'

I think that means he thought people were just following a 'choreography' set by others in their lives and not able to do their own thing. Maybe.

No Madonna, it's just 'dancer'.

And yeah, James is right.

Are we in control of our destiny? Or do we just follow a standardised path?

Edit: Yeah, James got the exact quote - my post is the breakdown of the quote.

Thanks for the info - always wondered ever since I heard it.

Although, I have to admit, "denser" is more humerous.

It actually really annoys me how he only says 'dancer'. It's a good song but it really does annoy me and ruins it.

Meh, in the context it's a collective noun, so I don't really pay much attention. It's not like he's singing "something kinda ooh, jumping on my tutu."

[which I love btw]
