GUESTS were forced to flee a Blackpool town centre hotel following a blaze this morning.
Seven holidaymakers were led to safety by the owners of The Sunset Hotel on Bank Street just before 9am after a fire broke out in the basement.

The landlady of the property was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene but did not require hospital treatment.

Firefighters say a fault on an electrical appliance in living accommodation in the lower floor of the hotel sparked the blaze which caused smoke and heat damage to the room and a further 10 rooms in the hotel.
