![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Watch out, watch out, there's a big cat about... Jaguar is now offering police forces across the UK the chance to go hunting criminal in style. The Jaguar XF police car that MSN Cars spotted at the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders test day last week has been revealed as the genuine article. Police-spec 3.0-litre Diesel S XFs are out being evaluated by the UK's blue light brigade right at this very moment. We reckon the slinky 275hp Jaguar will become one of the most powerful diesel police cars to ever roam the British mean streets - unless there are any bobbies out there rocking BMW's 286hp 535d. Either way, the XF's parallel sequential turbocharging should provide all the necessary in-gear, as well as emergency, response. And although the Mitsubishi Evo Xs some forces use offer definitively more rapid reaction times, we wouldn't mind betting XF-equipped patrols arrive a great deal more comfortably. After all, the Jaguar is famed for its cosseting ride quality, slick automatic gearbox, and leather seats are standard across the XF range. Decidedly not standard, however, are this car's blues and twos. The police XF gets a roof mounted lightbar with full 360 degree visibility and side lamps for illuminating dark alleys, plus LED flashers embedded in the grill, the rear light clusters and along each side. You'll certainly see this cat coming. On top of that, the XF is equipped with the latest Home Office approved police electronics, including radio gear and other thin blue line necessities. 0-60mph in 5.9 seconds is proof of capable performance, while the environmental and running costs impress at 179g/km CO2 and 42mpg combined. Any offer of full blue-light test drive will be gratefully accepted. So long as we're not handcuffed in the back... MSN News |

Chewy, on the pic of that police car, there is a stupid spoiler. I cannot stand the AWFUL mini-spoilers on the back of cars. That annoying and unneccesary bit of plastic will make just about no difference to the performance of the car!

Bitch is BACK!

Loving the jag. Hopefully it does go ahead and we see more of them in the UK.
My county has started getting the new corsa for patrol cars rather than the astra! They look fricking stupid. I actually laughed when I seen it. I was like well I will defo outrun that. We still have the astra's for traffic cops though. (i got a ticket the other day for not wearing a belt - i told them i got my boobs done and it was sore to wear one... FAIL) |
