Default Endemol v. Ch4

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't Ch4 IN CHARGE in the UK this year? I'm sure Endemol get a royalty, but tis my understanding the teething troubles are because Ch4 had to start all over. i.e. All Endermols experience has not been required.......??

Thats my point. That was how it was. There has been a subtle shift of responsibility this year......................

The two have always worked together closely. But with the Big Brother brandname becoming so big, the stakes are now much bigger.

If C4 are to run with the show until series 6 (which they have commisioned), they will want results in terms of viewing figures and income. Both C4 + Endemol UK are under pressure to get the most out of the show, and I think this is shown by some rather desperate measures being taken.

They have already moved away from the original concept of a stripped-back house in favour of a stylish (depending on your viewpoint!) house, champagne and chocolate. Since series 2 they have tried to initiate a sexual relationship - take the Den and the meals last year. As discussed elsewhere, the tasks seem to be an attempt to win ratings rather than to fit with the game.

The broadcaster IS 'in charge' in the end - if they don't like the product, they won't broadcast it. I don't think there's been a shift in power between the companies, but both are trying far too hard this time round.
