Default Whats going wrong with these forums?

When I first started posting they were pretty decent, different eople stating different views and having a laff, but all I see now is blatant ugly trolling.

Has it been like this in previous years? Did I just start in a lull?

It's just become a hole, really. Theirs the 'ard men, the camp men, the ones who spend sixteen hours a day posting here, the conspiracy men, and the ''hi im neww and dis is wat i thikn about big brother'' crowd.

It all adds up to a horrible shitstorm, really. It's just one of those forums that combines an overinflux of members, heavy handed selective moderating, and people for whom this forum is actualy their main social output in life.

Revel in the chaos or something .

What do you consider trolling though? Is someone who posts to say that they don't like a certain housemate trolling? How about someone who says that BB isn't very good this year? Just wondering.

It was okay my first week here. I thought how much better it was than other forums I tried since BBO shut. It's still good, lots of clever, funny people... but wow, sometimes there are so many idiots on here. Makes you wonder why they bother. My ignore list gets longer every day!

One of the things that is really pissing me off is members who constantly post one word posts in the BB10 secrion such as "Fail" "****" etc...
Fair enough if its in general chat& stuff but not here.

Having a high postcount means you have to fall into one of those categorys? Not at all. I guess I am the one on the side who gets accused of being miserable because I like to question things beyond ''what is your favourite colorz??''. Some of the greats on here have extremely high post counts. And I would venture that for a two year regular, my 5000+ is nothing special.

Thats a fair question.

No, I dont see someone posting they dont like a certain HM as trolling (see the top of my OP), and people certainly have the right the not like whatever they dont like.

Trolling is usually defined as posting excessive deliberatly offensive comments in order to bait others to respond in a negative manner.

No problem. If you want me to categorise myself, out of respect to those I did slap a cliche on [although just take a look around, they bring it on themselves] I would say I am the forums half baked, half arsed, half wanted bastard child .

Over the past few months I have left for weeks at a time only to come back and find the place in [IMO] increasingly worse states. I would not class myself a regular at all anymore. And yes, it is still possibly to post every now and then with various degrees of enjoyment and continue to slate the place based on my observations, for any innevitable posts from others that would seek to call me out as a hypocrite.

The forum is certainly not the same as it was in the days of BB2 when I first joined........However neither is BB itself the same as it was in those days and the so called type of fans have also changed dramatically........Far more vicious and hating and knee jerk reactions to housemates.....Keen to evict a character for the silliest of misjudgments they may make.....

In the old days the fans liked to leave housemates in to develop storylines.......Now the fans destroy storylines at the first oportunity before they can get off the ground.

This all makes for a very different forum experience.....All good things come to an end and that includes TV formats and sadly forums too....

Having made negative comments I still believe this is one of the superior forums on balance....Better than Digital Spy with heavy handed moderating a higher proportion of hate threads.....

Hate threads are what i dislike most on any forum......There is sadly a band wagon effect that hate threads can be used to get rid of entertaining housemates......
