Too bad she had no immediate family, so CMG Worldwide gets the cash. 8- Bob Marley is “Jammin” it up from some kind of cloud up in the sky. He grossed $6 mil in 2005 but his catalog is valued at $100 mil, including his 1984 Legend which has sold over 20 million copies to date. His widow and 11 kids got most of it but lost a good chunk in legal battles over estates when he died in 1981. 7- Tupac Shakur is one of the most influential and well recognized rap icons ever. He had 10 albums released after his death, which all debuted at No 1 on the Billboard charts. He made $7 mil in 2005 alone. His children Rosanne, tara, Kathleen, Cindy, and John get the revenue. 5- Theodor “Dr. Seuss” Geisel earned a whopping $10 million in 2005 by telling us why he doesn’t like green eggs and ham. His playful yet twisted stories combine over 44 books in 20 languages, which have sold over 500 million copies. He continues to sell in the millions every year. 4- Andy Warhol is one of the most recognizable artists, if not by his face, then by his work. His revenue is derived from all of his paintings, sculptures, as well as other drawings. His managers have adapted his art into everyday uses like scarves, umbrellas, purses, etc… in a year, he accumulates an average of $16 mil. 3- John Lennon, Beatles frontman and solo artist earned 22 million a year and has supplemented album sales with artwork, a Broadway Musical, kids toys, and jewelry. Other Memorabilia contributes to this dough raking, such as the envelope that sold for $400,000 in 2005. 2- Charles M Schultz, the Peanut King. Peanuts Gang that is. The Charlie Brown creator averaged $35 million and continues to grow. We’ve all seen his characters in the newspapers, about 2,400 different ones to be exact. Snoopy is also one great contributor to his wealth, since he is very popular on clothing. 1- If you didn’t already guess it from way back in number 10, Elvis remains the King. Elvis averages $45 mil a year. Since his death in 1977, CKX got 85% of the stake in Elvis’ income of about $100 million average. They then played it slick and released DVDs and television series, documentaries, and also monopolized on Elvis’ Graceland. Lisa Marie was in charge of her father’s estate, but she partnered up with CKX to expand her dad’s legacy. http://snagwiremedia.com/top-10-rich...d-celebrities/ |
