That is not racist in the slightest.

Siavash is a member of the Iranian community. So he tips the restaurants in his community more than those outside his community. It makes sense! After all, if you were eating down the street where you know all of the waitresses, bar tenders, owners, customers, etc, you are probably going to tip more than if you went to somewhere there was no one you knew.

I never met a single person in my life who was not racist in some way or other and to pretend you are not is silly. Hopefully we dont act racist but to prefer your won kind/culture is human.

In this instance he is showing he likes his country more than this one, the one he lives in. Perhaps if more folks like him stayed in their own countries and tried to affect change they would not have to live elsewhere
