Apart from Chrissy and Den's murder plot 2005/2006 was a pretty dreadful time for the show aswell from what little I remember I didn't watch it much.

Currently the show is better than it's been for a while (mostly due to Moon's taking a backseat) but it's still pretty bad. I've not enjoyed it since the live episode really. They're ignoring good characters and force feeding us tripe.

2005 was an awesome year for EastEnders, up there with '01. You had a few crap storylines that year, but so do most other years.

I agree that 2006 was a bit crappy but there was some good stuff going on. I'd take that over 2011 any day of the week, really.

Poor Zainab Yusef is such a horrible man, can't wait for him to die. I liked this storyline to begin with but it's been dragging on for too long now, will be glad when it's over on Boxing Day.

This Yusef storyline's been a piece of piss. I find it hard to believe that Zainab would just allow herself to be manipulated by Masood. Drinking a glass of water by someone who tried to kill you? WTF? Crap.

I found it unbelievable at first too but physical/mental abuse from a partner can happen to strong women too.

I too am totally over the Zainab/Yusef storyline

Zainab is such a bitch, that I couldn't care less about her situation or have any sympathy for her... The whole situation is pathetic too, she has had plenty of opportunities to flee from Yusef or tell people what is going on, she even had bloody police officers arriving at her door FFS!!

The whole storyline is just too far fetched & unbelievable

I'm enjoying EastEnders a lot recently.

Yusef and Zainab plotholes aside have annoyed me but the storyline is ending shortly, so that is the end of that.

There may not have been a back door and it's a health and safety hazard to walk through the kitchen. It's not entirely realistic but they have to drag this out until Christmas Day.

I really enjoyed that episode, some funny moments like Lauren hairdrying the turkey and Phil/Ben dancing and some funny one liners too.

Zainab/Yusef/Masood storyline interesting.. glad Zainab finally stood up to Yusef but don't understand why she went back with him. Yusef unhinged with the match at the end...

Denise going mental over that discovery RE Kevin. Shirley realising the predictable truth that the stalker was Ben. Roxy finally being allowed to see Amy again.

Well the Christmas episode I found quite disappointing. Wasn't as good as previous Christmas episodes and felt rather uneventful. The Zainab/Yusef stuff was good but Ben being the stalker was so predictable. Looking forward to the fire tonight though.

Wow! Brilliant episode, much better than Xmas Day. So glad Denise, Phil, Tamwar and Masood survived. I thought for a moment they might kill off Denise. Tamwar is going to have some serious burns.
