It's inevitable, and something we're all beginning to think about. It's time Big Brother got a complete overhaul, from the house location, to the font used. Over the next few weeks (Hopefully :P) im planning to share my ideas with you including new graphics, advertising, theme music, location and a week-by-week plan as well as background details such as new spin offs, launch themes ect.

Auditions:

First though, I think this year the producers should have been out looking for strange people this year. As much as some of us might hate to admit it, the freaks & loud mouths are always the most entertaining characters that keep the show alive. The auditionees looked for this year should hopefully have been either:

- So competitive that nothing gets in the way of winning.
- Complete freaks
- People with secrets
- & people with interesting and genuine entertainment factors (Ag Alex BB3 & Victor BB5 etc)

I'd also like a series of tests introduced to eliminate bores from the audition process early on, to keep the cast as interesting and entertaining as possible.

The audition process should also have been open to a wider amount of people (more locations) and to lure in more people a larger prize fund should have been promoted in adverts as well as 'Life changing situations' ect to get people rolling in.

Interactive audition feature:

Eg of an audition advert:

- I'm still working on audition graphics, hopefuly I'll upload a few more soon

Graphics:

Ditch the template. Ditch the font. Ditch the format.

Firstly a new logo:

Simple, but not boring and astheticly pleasing.

As for advertising graphics, the only ones that actually work are the countdown adverts. The rest are dated, old and don't have a point/make you want to watch. I've decided all should be scrapped for a new set (Minus the countdown adverts)

In order of airing:

- The first short adverts. Clear and let you know Big Brother is back. Slightly similar to the eye flashes, but longer and more to the point:

- All hearing, all seeing, all watching adverts. Basically to add a bit more verity and interest to the up and coming series:

- Info adverts. These should defiantly spark rumours and curiosity which = publicity which should hopefully = ratings. Basically they are to provoke interest and an aura of mystery back to the show. Should grab a few extra ratings:

- Housemate adverts. The vital part of any show. Housemate teasers should definatly arouse interest. Varying from soundbite to background info, they should hopefully create yet more ratings and spark more rumours:

- Countdown adverts. More or less the usual format:

- Summary adverts. Summarise everything so far, from housemate teasers, house clips, general info and rules ect all tied together into various 30 second clips.

- A general end sting:

- Opening theme. It needs to change. Its still a pretty good opening theme, but it's beginning to get tired. Heres a new rough idea:

View My Video

> Stay tuned. There's PLENTY more to come, but thats all for now.
OH MY ABSOLUTE GOD !!!

No jokes. Those are the best graphics i have ever seen on TiBB. Ever !

You should be extremely proud.

I would love for bb10 to be exactly like this. This is what the show needs !

Kind of a love/hate diary room - can't quite make my mind up about it.

Looking forward to reading your ideas for the show itself though - that's the difficult bit!

I don't know if I like the diary room. I hate the chair but love the walls and lighting.
I'm not a huge fan of this house, I do think that one or two of your other houses have been much better, but this house is also nice and a step up from whatever we get for BB10.

Thanks guys

Format.

Basics:

12 people will enter on the launch. Money will be earned. Punishments harsher.

Editing:

As mentioned above, narration will rarely be used, and when it is, a producer will become voice over. The show will be shortened to 40 minutes and editing will be much tighter and less focused on one Housemate throughout the series. I think a few new editing techniques coud be chucked in to freshen up the style of the show too.

Tasks:

About 2 tasks a week will take place. One to add to the prize fund and food and another to win luxuries. Housemates will be expected to work for their money, which could peak at 500k. Tasks could last up to a week and will mostly make use of the specially constructed task room at some point throughout the task. An added bonus for winning money tasks will result in housemates getting the use of a rewards room several times throughout the series. If housemates work to a certain standard or complete a certain percentage of each main task they will win a luxury shopping budget for that week. - This year extras can also be purchased on shopping day. BB will inform housemates what extras are on offer that week. - Of course these extras are funded straight out of the shopping budget.

Luxury tasks will involve tedious, boring or disgusting chores, and pointless social and mental excersises - Basically mini money tasks. Housemates will be able to collect luxury 'cards' as they go along during the task to make life easier in the house. This is their sole way of getting hot water and other things we take for granted. Each week there will also be booby prizes.

There will also be numerous secret missions throughout the series, simply to entertain us and cause a stir in the house. If housemates request a luxury, they will have to work for it. As will they have to work for letters from home when they are received.

Nominations:

Twists that affect nominations have been cut back, so generally most weeks housemates will nominate as normal. The basic format still survives here. 2 nominations, valid reasons and in the Diary Room. Housemates may now talk about nominations anywhere at any time, but arent allowed to influence anyone elses directly.

Twists:

The twists will become full scale and memorable, and many of them will involve the public and all will disrupt/change the housemates. Less twists will be used, but they will last longer and hopefully affect the rest of the series.

Rules:

3 strike system. Break 3 golden rules and you'll be waving goodbye.

Strike 1: Punishment & Warning
Strike 2: Punishment & Final warning
Strike 3: Ejected

Minor rule breaks will involve tedious and nasty punishments. All rule breaks could result in the prize fund going down.

And here are the rules:

GOLDEN RULES:

1. No contact with the outside world.
2. No violation of any other housemates health.
3. No direct influence towards other HM's nominations - But nominations/gameplay may be discussed.
4. No electronic goods, books, writing materials, instruments or media allowed.
5. All tasks/Nominations/Diary Room visits compulsory.

Other rules:

6. Microphone must be worn at all times (Except in shower etc...)
7. No deliberate damage to any equipment or property within the compound.
8. No secret messages/speaking in forgien language

Other general info:

9. Big Brother will only acknowledge HM's personally in the Diary Room.
10. One suitcase of belongings.
11. No time telling devices.
12. Housemates can leave at any time.

13. BIG BROTHER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CHANGE THE RULES AT ANY TIME.

Thats it, and of course the other legal shite.

WEEK 1: Friday - Sunday

Day 1: ITS A TRIC-KEY BUSINESS:
The first night hasn't passed and BB are already letting the housemates into a taster to what's to come. The private bedroom door is locked and Big Brother has provided the key... mixed with 100's of others in a clear perspex box. The housemates have until dawn to find the right key and whoever does rightfully owns the private bedroom for the rest of their stay in the house.

Day 2:
The suitcases all arrive in the garden with an added surprise - a housemate (13th) in a glass soundproof booth. The housemates are all told that they can either have all their suitcases back or no suitcases and the new housemate, but being Big Brother, even the simplest of tasks make the housemates lives a misery. Our latest bunch, if they pick the new housemate, the group must sacrifice one of their own - Of course they wont know this until they make their decision. If they pick their suitcases, the new arrival must go. But, is that really the end of the unfortunate chosen housemate? Guess again...

Which ever housemate is ditched will leave through the Diary room, assumabley never to be seen by the housemates again. What they don't know is that a small room has been set up for the 'Rejected' housemate to comfortably eat sleep and rest, but how is this exiting? Well this is where the major part comes to play. The room has been fixed with 2 moniters, and a set of headphones. For 4 days (Until Tuesday) The rejected housemate will observe the group in the main house. They will have no control over anything that happens in the house, but they can get into the action with a choice of 7 of the houses main cameras and all of the accompanying microphones positioned throughout the interior. If Big Brother sees anything that would be of interest to the rejected housemate, he will stream the clip directly onto one of the monitors. To aid the housemate with their decision, BB will quiz the other HM's throughout the week in the Diary Room about what their initial feelings were towards the rejected HM. By Tuesday the rejected housemate will be called to the diary room to make a very important decision. "After over half a weeks observance of every move in the house, who will you choose to nominate along side you for eviction this Friday?" - Note: Housemates will view the rejected HM's nomination chose on the plasma. Once a name has been stated by 'The Mole' he is told to re enter the second house, soon after to be joined by the nominated Housemate until Friday where both will go head to head for eviction. The winner will rightfully win their place in the main house, the looser will leave.

The rejection quarters:

Day 3:
FREE DAY - Generally the task would start on day 3 of each week, but since its week one, there is no major tasks to get housemates settled into their surroundings.

WEEK 2: Monday - Sunday

Day 4:
Task: To get the housemates started, this isn't a gruelling 3 day task, and it isn't live either. 1000 felt tip pens
have arrived in the house and non have the right lids attached. The housemates have roughly 1 hour and a giant sheet of paper to correctly sort all the pens and their lids. Each pen is worth Ł1 and if all 1000 are sorted, the first Ł1000 is added to the total for the winner. If 2 thirds the pens are correctly sorted the housemates are also rewarded with a luxury shopping budget (Ł380)

NOTE: There is no shopping task during Week 1. Instead both tasks have been merged.

Day 5:
FREE DAY - Usually, Tuesday is nominations day but week 1 is slightly easier/different.

Day 6:
Luxury task: Throughout the series, each week a small scale task will be set up in the house to win added luxuries for the house. This week up for grabs are 5 suitcases (If they chose the new housemate on day 2) 1 hour of extra hot water and and up to an extra Ł30 to add to the shopping budget. All the housemates have to do is search for 13 individual cards hidden all around the house.

Each card will have a prize written on it saying: A suitcase,'(x5) 30 minutes of hot water (x2) and Ł5 added to shopping budget (x6)

Day 7:
FREE DAY

Day 8:
Eviction night: The 2 rejected HM's prepare for eviction.

Day 9/10:
FREE DAYS

Week 3: Monday - Sunday

Day 11:
Task: The housemates may have thought they had escaped work for 13 weeks, but when Big Brother is about you can't think anything isn't a possibility. This week, for 48 hours the housemates will be marching into 'Big Uncles Chicken factory.' If you hadn't already guessed, this weeks task involves handling dead chickens and makes use of the task room. The housemates must pluck, gut out, cut up and package 350 chickens. Each chicken is worth Ł2 and if all are successfully sorted within the 48 hour time limit the prize is rounded to Ł1000. If at least 300 chickens are successfully sorted the housemates will win a luxury shopping budget of Ł380. There are 4 12 hour shifts over the period of time, with 6 housemates working per shift. They are not allowed to leave the 'Factory', but there is a toilet, a vending machine and Diary room access from the area. Housemates will watch a video before participating showing how to properly prepare the chickens.

Day 12:
First nominations of the series. All housemates are locked in the main living area until the process is over - Since some housemates are working during nominations, a second round will take place while the group who already nominated are working later today to give everyone a chance.

Day 13:
Main task finishes at 2.00pm - 48 hours after starting. Housemates find out how much they made and if they passed or failed to do enough for a luxury shopping budget.

Day 14:
Luxury task: This week, cards are attached to helium balloon,s which are hovering above the housemates in the garden. The housemates have been supplied with a box of random objects to try and burst the balloons with. When the balloon bursts, the card will flutter down with it for the housemates to take. If the housemates do not burst the balloon before the card is taken or the balloon is burst with any objects apart from the ones supplied in the box, the card can not be used, and the prize is lost.

This week up for grabs are:
A luxury pillow and quilt set (x1) 30 minutes extra lie in (x2) An inflatable chair (x1) and A bottle of champagne (x2)

Day 15:
Shopping list day. This week, Big Brother is offering all the left over suitcases still not claimed, a hamper full of luxury snacks/alcohol and 5 mystery cards - All for a small fee of course.

Day 16:
Eviction.

Day 17/18:
FREE DAYS

Additional info:
During weeks 2 & 3, BBLB will hold a competition for over 18's to win a week in the Big Brother house as a guest, following his rules. They will take part in the tasks and will be immune from eviction. They cant be nominated, but will be given the chance to nominate. They must leave Live on the Friday after entering during the eviction episode before the actual evictee. To be up for the chance of winning a place in the house, all they have to do is upload an audition style vid telling us why they should be BB's houseguest. The finalised 4 will be fighting head to head for 2 BBLB episodes to win the public's votes and let them enter the house during day 16's eviction.

Your ideas are beyond brilliant, especially making the housemates work a 12 hr shift. They should be put to work, it isnt a summer holiday after all.
I love the 'Rejected Housemate' twist also your 'Houseguest' competition.
Cant wait to see more!!!

You know I don't bullshit about these things Conor, so I think you've already failed to live up to the slogan "Same Old - Not this time!". However you dress it up, the first week twist is a fake eviction/bedsit scenario - which has been overdone over recent years and although it can still be done effectively, I wouldn't be doing it in the first week.

I also think you're failing to address the issues with tasks - like in the last couple of years they seem short and random rather than having a solid structure they stick to each week. I do like the idea of the workplace though, which could be used throughout the series in various forms for the tasks. That would be an area I think which could be explored - the idea of housemates having to earn their place in the house. Love the look of the chicken factory too.

I do like the BBLB competition idea though of sending someone in as a guest for a week - that could really be played with.

Glenn, thank you.

Brekkie, the first week twist is essentially a clone, but I really couldnt think of another major twist that would be on as large a scale or would disrupt the balance of the show without using another house. The only reason I put this twist up within the first couple of days (or even at all) was because I think it could help pick up viewers within the first few weeks. I can see your point in the 'Fake eviction' scenario though, and I'll try to work around with that in a mo. I personally don't like second house twists, but for some reason I have the feeling the general public do like to see them.

I planned the tasks long before I designed the house or graphics or anything like that, so I can verify there will be more work themed tasks, and some will last 5 days. Also, from this point on, many of the sub tasks link with the major task that week. I think I've picked a bad first 2 weeks to start with but I wanted to keep major events for later on when they'd be needed to gather viewers.

Also, we will see more of the BBLB comp winner in the next post

Part from that, thank you for commenting

EDIT: The fake eviction part has been taken out. Now both HM's living in the rejection quarters and the other Housemates will be fully aware that there will be a real eviction on Friday and also the real whereabouts of both rejected Housemates whilst in the house.

Oh I do understand Conor - you start out thinking about what fantastically original twist you could do, and then end up back using something you wanted to avoid, but something which could work.

The idea is actually a good one, but as I said we have seen it before and hence I doubt whether it would be big enough to sustain the launch week of the show. In some ways it might be better to do it without the fake eviction - have the rejected HM evicted completely. That would show that BB means business right from the start - and that BB isn't afraid to chuck out any of it's housemates, whenever it feels like it.

Love the plan so far.
I really like the BBLB competition, brilliant idea
and the tasks are also very good, much better than what we will probably get for BB10
