Default Science Teacher half kills a 14 year old student

Peter Harvey, 49, is alleged to have assaulted the youngsters with a weight during a science lesson at All Saints' Roman Catholic School in Mansfield.

That boy must have wound him up so much.

A Online pupils report on this Teacher
gives him Top marks.

I guess this is Rare
we get pupils attacking Teachers
most times.

Life In The City.

With regards to the teacher, I was just reading this:

"One father said: "It's a massive shock and very sad because if there is something wrong with the teacher it cannot be totally his fault."

Claire Tonks, 23, was dropping her nephew at the school today. She said: "It's a good school and I can't believe it as it could have been my nephew." A 48-year-old grandmother added: "The teacher has got to have been pushed to do it because he stands to lose his job."

The school is located in a rundown area of Mansfield and boarded-up houses line the street around it.

Senior teachers and police officers stood outside the gates ushering pupils in this morning. Chris Holmes, 19, a semi-pro wrestler and former pupil at the school, said: "I'm shocked. He was an alright teacher and a decent guy."

He added: "He was not one of those guys where you would go 'Oh no, I've got him next'."

Tom Blythe, also 19 and a former pupil at the school, said: "I didn't think the pupils would give him stick. He was actually a decent bloke and got involved in school plays."

He described the teacher as "a bit of a legend". "It must have been serious for him to snap." "

He seems to have a lot of support. Nobody seems to be declaring outrage over it. Still, using a weight (allegedly) is a bit excessive. It will be interesting to see this story unfolds now he has been arrested.

I think they were trying to use that as an example in trying to get across that he was a decent bloke, who would get involved with the pupils, and not just one who did the bare minimum necessary. That excerpt shows some positive comments in his defence, when you might expect a bit of a backlash against someone in a case like this.

I like how they try to shift the blame away from the teacher, but then again it's the Daily Mail. To them teenagers are evil demons who are more monkey then man.

The man deserves everything he gets, no matter what happens he should have had the sense not to let anything a fourteen year old get to him. No matter what was said nothing constitutes attacking a kid with a weight.

"A leafleting campaign supporting Mr Harvey is planned outside the school.

The leafleting is expected to start at 1530 BST outside the school grounds. "

There is growing support for the teacher.

I can imagine you throwing the plant out of the window and everyone going "Ooooo".

I had a DT city landscape thrown at me from my DT teacher because i didnt put enough effort in so I threw it on the floor and stamped on it, if he didnt liek my work and i hated DT, why would i keep working on it, I then spent the last 5 lessons doing nothing while everyone was finishing there things off... was fun

He had only got back to school recently after suffering a stroke with stress, and the pupils still continue to swear at him and wind him up. Talk about kicking someone when they are down. Do any of these kids have a heart or just a swinging brick?
