Default BB will be getting renewed, in my opinion!

Evidence:

Celebrity Big Brother advert aired last night, and was shown on Viacom owned channels as well as Channel 5 (Viva, for example)

Speculation:

Some reality shows shown on Viacom's channels (Geordie Shore, EX on The Beach) get 800k and lower, for Big Brother to be at an average of 1.5 million for them must seem good!

Geordie Shores latest series is officially getting 1.16 and the last series every episode gained over 1 million viewers so you cant compare the official BB rating to an overnight of Geordie Shore that's unfair.

Geordie Shore makes the contestants celebrities just look at their Twitter profiles with some of them having well over a million followers and bring in big bucks for them whilst for some reason housemates no longer become celebs even though they are on tv constantly for 70 odd days and around 400k more people watch it in officials their Twitter followers are in the 20/30k region generally so theres not as much interest there either.

For these shows to be getting over 1 million on a much smaller channel than Channel 5 and at a fraction of the cost doesn't really give me any hope nor does it look like "evidence".

I have no doubt CBB will return in some way no one has seen a contract which specifically says there has to be a civilian series so lets all remember that its possible to just run CBB twice a year, they would be stupid not to seeing as the final in January almost hit 4 million viewers but then I cant see this CBB doing well at all.

Hopefully im wrong but come Friday if at the end of the Final Emma doesn't announce applications for the next series of BB are online as usual then im confident in saying its cancelled.

I think people said the civilian series was pushed onto channel 5 who only wanted CBB after the last one on channel 4 did well. After four series endemol might back down and say they tried but the ratings have tanked so let them just have CBB. Or move BB in a changed/reduced format to MTV or something.

Hopefully the low figures see the end of the August CBB.

I wouldn't give up hope after the final. Viacom don't officially take over until September do they? I think anyway. So maybe if nothing is said at the CBB final then it's over.

lets not create reality here, they just need to sort out the format not give up - its too long. 8 weeks is fine - a possible extension if the series is going well?

the themes are awful. we dont need all the bells and whistles. the eye interview all this - just do the interview in a normal studio. save hundreds of thousands - the effects - someone/a team is being paid to design them, to put them on screen here and there etc, for three months all this cost is waste...

they waste money - whats the point in Louisa? thats a salary there and wasted money. No money is spent on tasks. the house is designed to make people paranoid and uncomfortable - why? the people making money from this show do not seem to want to invest in it long term. its as if they want it to fail, and they are sucking the blood.

the CCB house which seemed to really turn them all on so much - was oppulent and luxurious. Surroundings make SUCH a difference to human behaviour. they didnt have to be expensive - the gold dog statue broke when a drunk Jasmine fell on it.

I just like to see people having a laugh and a good time. the arguments don't need to be manufactured like they have been this series.

the season Nadia won, fight night (on youtube) was not designed. But the people were funny, young, vibrant.

This lot were aggressive, arrogant, egomaniacs. Of course its not been a pleasure to watch.

I agree on most parts but I do disagree in letting them live in a luxurious house. Nice and a great design but it has to have elements to it that will cause conflict as well as fun.

The house design actually affects housemates behaviour.

Also the fight night was manufactured by producers they put the housemates in that situation and it erupted. It was manipulated but atleast the public played a part and were not left out of the decisions which is supposed to be made by us. They can still manipulate the house but they need to do it in a subtle way and not how they are now, just throwing it in the viewers faces.

The producers need a lesson in how to balance an edit so it appeals all round. The youtube clips they upload show some hilarious conversation in down time especially with Ash and Marc yet nothing made the final edit all we saw is conflict. Even Emma spoke up about this, she also mentioned no live feed being a big problem.

This. What makes BB AU so good is that it's actually fun to watch because they're not endlessly messing around with the HMs, and the HMs actually have some fun.

I'm not sure. I think it could be at risk. This series felt like they have really run out of ideas and are getting desperate. The twists, manipulation and leaking info into the house all seemed like their list ditch attempts to make it work - and of course simply ended up making it worse.

It feels like the show has reached a dead end and needs to be put out of its misery.

It could be so good if they just looked back at when it was good and recreated that. Average joes, not people on 'the cusp of fame', no outside contact, live feed, no producer manipulation and not as many twists.

Although I have enjoyed BB15...

The thing is, shows like Geordie Show are incredibly cheap to make. Big Brother isn't

I think whatever happens, Geordie shore will be moving to channel 5 and if CBB keeps coming back, we're going to pretty much have the entrie cast on before too long.

BB needs a big revamp. The ethos is dead now. There is a lot of merit in people being together for the summer and us lot all discussing them but not as it was.

The people are too savvy, too inactive and the whole noms and eviction thing is blown

Big Brother gives C5 the best ratings, I think it will be renewed too.

I saw this on another forum earlier

on Marcus Facebook page on a post about CBB, someone states 'this is the last one', Marcus replies 'no it is not the last one'

Seems quite matter of fact

And I think Marcus was talking about Celebrity Big Brother, not civilian.

We have at least one more year left in Big Brother AND Celebrity Big Brother yet, I should think. All the presenters and crew are determined that this isn't the last one.

C4 still had one year left on the contract so 2009 was the year they decided whether to extend it or not, they decided they wouldn't be so that 2010 would be the show's last.

Whereas this year is BB's last on the current contract.
