RACE relations chief Trevor Phillips PRAISED Big Brother yesterday for boosting ethnic understanding.

His comments came as a racial SPLIT developed in the house. But the Commission for Racial Equality boss insisted reality shows like BB have done “more for racial and ethnic understanding than any other media creation in recent years”.

Research showed viewers do not vote out contestants on racial grounds, he said, adding:

“In Kemal the bisexual Muslim, Derek, the world’s poshest black man, and Makosi, the feminist Zimbabwean nurse, we’ve three people who’d confound any possible stereotyping.”

The rift emerged as Derek complained to BB after Craig said Makosi was “not even British”.

Saskia was backed by white housemates after accusing Makosi of stealing cider.

As they rowed Saskia told her: “You wear a *******ing wig.”

The racial cliques hardly spoke until Saskia apologised later on.

Saw a headkine in a tabloid (sorry don't know which one) that Channel 4 got indated with complaints over Saskia's racial insults over 'cidergate.' They may get fined and show pulled off air/ or the last BB ever.
