Default Do you think David was trying to get Marcus kicked out?

My opnion is yes - think Marcus has him summed up and thought it was hilarious the way when David came out the DR and said sorry, 'thought you said punched instead of punked' Marcus said several times sorry I called you a fat ****** it was the way he was repeating it had me in stitches.
David keeps going on about his rule breaking but the way he stood there and kept saying come on punch me he was really goading Marcus - good on marcus for not retaliating

You see it in every single reality show. There is always someone who dares another to punch them. They know if they get punched the other person is out.

I dont know...david seemed very quick to accept that he had misheard...if he really felt so strongly that he had heard marcus say punched...he would have said this to BB. Instead of just accepting their words.

But on the other hand he may well have misheard...

I dont know which to believe.

But it did seem a lot like he was goading marcus to hit him.

oh DBFS, dbfs, to say that David was trying to get him thrown out, would be admitting that David is capable of rational thought.

I just think David was pushing his buttons and lets not forget he hears all this crap from Lisa about Marcus I just think that David would have risked taking a punch from Marcus knowing that if he did they would chuck him out - he obviously went to the DR and complained which they didnt show on HL because BB said after viewing the tapes etc Marcus said punked not punched

I don't think David was trying to get Marcus kicked out, I think he really did mishear.

The interesting thing is that Marcus clearly used the past tense, and "punched" would have made no sense at all in the context. But in the heat of the moment, people can lose their heads so it is quite possible David really did think he had been threatened.

Utter rubbish - Lots of people thought Marcus said 'punch' - extremely difficult to tell - perfectly understandable that David thought he had said that - he was just showing Marcus that he wouldn't be intimidated by him!! Good on him!! And he had the good grace to apologise as soon as he came out of the DR!

Personally, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Marcus said 'punk' with the intention of it being interpreted as 'punch' just to cause a drama - and maybe even hoping David would react in such a way as to get himself into trouble!

He is a schemng, manipulative creature - wouldn't trust him further than I could sling him!!

As for his 'fat' comments - pot and kettle - usual deluded garbage!!

I felt David was trying to goad Marcus. David stood up, Marcus didn't. He certainly got over it very quickly when he came out of the Diary room.

It is kind of understandable that David might make that mistake. What is rather more surprising is that so many people on this forum should make the mistake.

I think I am the only person who has pointed out that Marcus was clearly using the past tense when he was speaking and that "punched" would make absolutely no sense in the discussion. I suppose people got as caught up in the heat of it as the Housemates themselves.

That's because the two words sound so similar. It isn't really much of a conspiracy, is it?

That is true, but it is not something I am overly concerned about. I am perfectly happy to accept that Housemates may have misheard in the heat of such a chaotic discussion.

Just to clarify the point I am trying to make, if you say to someone you have never punched, "I punched you," it is rather incongruous.

think your right...
David just isn't that good with words and got flummoxed in the arguements and resorted to a stupid spat with Marcus.....
he was put on the defensive a lot ...basically having to defend to halfwit a supposed gameplan (??)

David know's that Marcus has a warning against him, and Lisa and David are desperate to get shot of Marcus so i think it was an opotunistic tactic to get him the boot, but it didn't work and David probably felt a bit of a nerd for showing his hand and getting it wrong

But David was and is scared of Marcus. No reason to be but he is.

If Lisa is around David is first one to bully somebody else and bitching and whining.

The same could be said for Marcus!!

The man plays with dollies FFS oops sorry rips the heads off GI joe action figures and glues them onto different bodies, then puts them in different dresses. Like some sort of juvenile Dr Frankenstein.

I thought it was hilarious to watch the coward Marcus getting courage only after a majority went and surrounded David and Lisa,
(note - Marcus waited till most were there first before he showed up)
and,
AFTER Lisa left and David was all alone and David told Marcus off.

Duly noted - even when David thought he said 'punch' (keep in mind HE heard that) he was happy to stand up and invite Marcus in.

What did the coward Marcy do?
Nothing.
His fake laughter and looking around to make sure he had everyone on his side.
Marcy got punked and it is just hilarious how 10 minutes later he 'retold' the story 'as if' David 'had no response'.
Camp Frankenstein - 1
Marcy - 0

IF ONLY Marcy had the courage to take a punch because David would surely club the chubby little Marcus into the ground lol
