Ever since Danyl's audition, Simon has been trying to ram him down all of the throats of the voters and the viewers. The excessive press attention from him after his first audition was tiresome.

Also Simon's arrogance about the whole thing, he had seemed so smug and kept repeating "Well none of my 3 will be in the bottom 2!" and last week when he said "See thats why everyone wants to be mentored by me!"

But unexpectedly the public havnt caught onto it despite the obvious favouritism of Danyl amongst the producers and Simon by putting him near the end all the time, along with J&E. Meanwhile Olly, Miss Frank and Rachel have always grabbed the earlier slots (Olly more notably, he has never been after 3rd)

I think Simon expected us to be more thick. Obviously the tactic of the producers is not working and I bet they are PISSED after last night

But WTF about the emergency meeting, a meeting was not held when Laura was elliminated, but Simon feels the need to call a meeting just because his favourite is not getting voted for!! What exactly is the meeting going to do??

Im just happy that this happened sooner rather than later. I KNEW and I remember saying it about Danyl at bootcamp, "all this attention and hype will make him more unlikeable, make him and Simon more smug"

No. Last night proved that people are too quick to assume their favourite is safe.

I mean, sure loads of people hate him, but he still has a lot of fans.

Same happened with Laura last year, and Austin I think.

I don't think the emergency meeting really meant anything they're just trying to drum up intrigue and excitement for next week. I said in another thread but I bet Simon loves the fact that Danyl is in the bottom 2 as they can use it to create publicity. Simon Cowell isn't stupid and he knows the media and audience extremely well so I'm pretty sure he knew that Danyl wasn't that popular. He's just pretneding to make a fuss now so that the newspapers can write about it all this week.

Simon obviously wasn't THAT surprised, surely he gets to see the voting figures from the previous weeks and would know that Danyl wasn't as safe as he anticipated.

No if anything it shows how stupid the people in the public vote are! Im sorry but letting people through who cant sing for **** like John and Edward or Lloyd! Ughh it just annoys me. I do believe he deserved to be in the bottom 2 last night, and I would like to think it wasn't people thinking he is safe... but because he is a very poor performer.

The twins are entertaining, I don't like them and don't watch them but the novelty act always stays till half way. Lloyd is not as bad as people make him out to be, I am not a fan but he is more likable than Danyl in my opinion.

I think it is wishful thinking to say that Danyl was in the bottom 2 because people thought he was safe.

Don't believe that for a minute - think it is because he is less popular than the rest.

He doesn't deserve to go yet - he is a good singer - but he is very unlikely to win - not because he hasn't got the talent - but because his over dramatic ways turn people off.

That may not be fair - but people don't vote fairly. It is a popularity competition now - has been for quite a while.

I kinda agree with what you're getting at Salv, but I think it was more to do with Rachel's "transformation". Rachel's votes get bumped up significantly; pushing everyone else down a spot. Danyl will be safe next week but will probably finish 7th or 8th. Rachel will probably be the next one out, or hopefully John and Edward.

But the public dont liek to be made fools of, they dont want Danyl to be their favourite. They have been pushing Danyl to try and make him a God to the public. But they havnt fell for it.

They are voting for the twins simply because its an entertaiment contest now, they want to be entertained on a Saturday night in.
