Thats what any person who truly believes in Jesus Christ, should think! I am no christian, but obviously thats what faith dictates. If you know the consequences of renouncing your faith, and the consequence of your Daughter being shot.
It might not make sense to someone who doesnt truly have his faith, but it makes perfect sense for a devout christian.

There was nothing metaphorical about it. He said, in a nutshell, if someone had a gun to his daughter's head and told her to say Jesus didn't exist, he would rather she was shot than renounce Jesus. Not exactly a candidate for Father of the Year.
