Default Not So Kosi Treatment

Quote:
BIG Brother bosses have been hit by 450 viewer complaints about Davina McCall's interview with Makosi Musambasi.

The Channel 4 presenter ignored the nurse's hints that the hostile crowd was upsetting her after she finished third.

Hearing chants of "Liar!" and "Off! Off!" Makosi squealed: "This is really distressing". But Davina just said: "I can't believe you're showing no remorse."

Makosi, 24, was accused of fibbing about having hot tub sex with winner Anthony. But a host of Mirror readers on our website condemned her treatment. TV regulator Ofcom confirmed: "We are looking into 450 complaints."

I didn't like her either, but I thought the crowd behaved appallingly on the final night. And Davina did not help matters.

There is a short interview in Heat this week with Davina about how she handled the interview with Makosi.

Didn't buy it but she mentions that she couldn't do anything to stop the crowd booing.

She also mentioned she thought Makosi was a great housemate but when Makosi refused to apolgise for anything Davina said she had to pursue the line of questioning that she did, because that was what people would expect her to do.

That's the jist of the piece anyway. There's also a feature with Kinga.

Apparently it was not only the crowd, her housemates looked the other way when she tried to smile and wave at them !

You reap what you sow !!

She did nothing to help herself, still claiming that she was the winner -
the last female ! Her arrogance is her downfall.
She tried for the sympathy vote by claiming she was doing it for the money so her mother could have an operation, and now, it is clear that she would much rather have spent her money on a car - which she delighted in describing at the Dukes of Hazzard premier, but unfortunately forget to continue paying for !!

A very materialistic person who does think she is some kind of princess
with absolutely no regrets for anything she has done.

What goes around comes around. Makosi deserved what she got and as the public wanted her out long long ago the tension just mounted up. They should stop looking into the complaints and start looking at whoever threw something at Vanessa and other actual violent things a bit of chanting you would get at every football game. If Davina had been all nice and softly softly with her we all would be complaining because she didnt question her or ask her things. Davina asked the right questions and Makosi should of shown some remorse for her disgusting behaviour. Makosi is just cashing in on everything she can to pay off her car and cash in before she is taken out of the uk. Hopefully she doesnt come back.

Well, I thought the crowd were appalling, and I was surprised that Davina showed no compassion at all.

It's always pretty obvious who Davina does and doesn't like, but this was pretty extreme.

Whatever Makosi did or didn't do, she was on a game show and she did entertain us..

I don't think she was lying about the hot tub incident incidentally, but I do think she has a very active imagination in general. I have met a few people like Makosi and I wouldn't want to be friends but I certainly don't wish her any harm.

Just my personal ROB opinion, I hasten to add.

Well said ROB - that sums up my thoughts too. I didn't like Makosi - not one bit - but after all, it was a gameshow, and whether people loved or hated her, they certainly couldn't accuse her of being boring!

She wasnt boring as she is the one who shall be the most talked about in future bb's. She will most certainly make the most money selling pictures, selling stories etc. She can't complain that much because she knew she could get bad press etc before she went on the show. The car story, the aids story, the immigration stories...she has had the most coverage out of everyone. What exactly did you see Davina doing wrong? Not trying to silence hundreds of people? She gave Makosi a chance to air her thoughts which is more than she did to other contestants. If Davina had of been nice to her and only asked questions that Makosi would of liked it would of been pathetic.

Feeble excuse from Davina. She didn't even try to calm the situation instead she added logs to the fire.

Davina is a respected interviewer and as such she could have at least said to the crowd please "calm it so viewers can hear the interview. It may have worked it may not have. That would have been the decent and professional thing to do.....No feeble excused Davina on this occasion you were wrong......

If Davina was on stage presenting Live 8 then perhaps I could understand her reluctance to give the crowd a telling off. But we're talking about a thousand or so people who regard Davina as the Queen of Big Brother.

I would have had more respect for Davina if she had tried to control the crowd but evidence suggests she doesn't want to. To her booing, chanting and hounding housemates is all part of the experience.

We're going to have the same next year and ever series after that as long as Davina is host.

The boo's are all panto anyway, it makes the show what it is. People got boo'ed and always will do that is part of the experience. Vanessa got an apple or orange or whatever throw directly at her...that is what people should be complaining about!

I don't think people can really blame Davina. Makosi brought it on herself and deserved eveey last boo, hiss and chant she got.

well said!
Why should Makosi show remorse? She doesn't owe davina anything and i don't think davina had a right to ask her to be remorseful!
Also im suprised DAvina was slating Makosis attitude during the interview, what exactly did she expect Makosi to do? Break down in tears and beg for forgiveness? And why should she. it is only a game!

I read the Q & A with Davina in this week's Heat. I think she more than adequately explained what happened. There was no way that she could've made the crowd stop, and as she said, she gave her several opportunities to apologise that were ignored.

If she had any morals whatsoever, that's the very least she should've done.

did she ask Craig to appologise for almost molesting Anthony? NO
Did Maxwell apologyse for putting scabs in SCiences food? NO
Did she ask Derek to be remorseful for saying Science is the first black person to make him want to oin the BNP (which imo is very racist) NO she did not.
So why make Makosi?

I didn't say that she asked her to apologise, I said that she gave her the opportunity to apologise. But in answer to your points, she did indeed confront all of those hm's on all of those issues.

NONE of them apologised though, so why should Makosi?

You've highlighted single incidents for three hm's. Makosi had three months of lies, cheating, playing and bitchiness to atone for. And each of them at least looked embarrassed and showed signs of regret and remorse. Makosi, on the other hand, positively revelled in her transgressions.

oh please!
i could give you a lot more examples of nasty things Craig and Maxwell did in the house! Even Lesley who was only there 2 weeks.
Makosi bitched but so did most the housemates this year,
The only thing she may have lied about is the pregnancy But no one knows for certain wether ant and makosi had sex and IF they did then there was a risk she would be pregnant!
Makosi was NO worse than any other housemate and she has supporters as well as haters. as do most housemates.

THe whole virgin thing was only done in week one and that was to mess with the housemates heads so they would nominate her.

Davina to Derek "did you really mean it when you said SCience was the first black man to make you want to join the BNP"
Derek "yes i did and i don't regret it!"

Craig also denied fancying ant in his interview and as well as everything that happened at the spy party! But Davina praised him regardless of this!

I neither want, nor intend, to have an argument with you or anyone else about Makosi. I think she got what she asked for during her eviction and interview, and that Davina conducted herself properly. You disagree, and you're entitled to your opinion. Neither of us is ever going to persuade the other to the contrary.
