I saw this programme in Australia today about how some cultures that reside here are racist towards Australians and how little it is reported about because it's not really seen as racism because Australians are the majority.

It got me to thinking about the UK and British people and how sometimes slurs towards us are not seen as racist, yet the same slur towards another country or culture is seen as highly racist.

I'm not looking to start an argument here, I actually want a serious discussion and people's opinions.

You see if you use the word **** it's racist. But Brit, Paddy, ect. are not.

Well I understand I'd be pissed off if I was called White Bastard but its not a derogatory one worded term

Dunno really, racism has become a very complicated thing these days. People don't really know the meaning of it anymore, often mixing it up with peoples religious beliefs.

What difference does it have if it a term has one or more words, its the intent or offense either perceived or intended surely that make a term racist.
