Default One question

Would the way one of your friends views a person dictate how you act towards them, particularly when you've seen where the problem arose and still had fun and been friendly with said person in the first place?

If my friend has a problem with someone I have a problem with that person.

That's not how it works though, particularly when you have no problem with the person yourself and were talking to them freely prior to that.

Not really. That's up to them of what they think of the person, wouldn't let that affect the way I see them.

I don't think you should really be bringing personal issues here James. It seems like you're looking for an argument again tbh.

Well if it was a person who I had nothing to do with and didn't converse with often I would just be like, whatever, I wouldn't join in bitching sessions or whatever but I wouldn't reject that person if they were to make an effort with me just because of my friend's opinion with them.

But if it was someone I was involved with as well as being involved with my friend who had a problem with them I would probably just choose a side. I find it makes life easier. Plus I find fence sitting irritating.

But what if you've been friendly with the said person and then cut him off just because of something your friend said? What if the majority sided with some bullshi$ reason your friend came up with to turn everybody's backs on him/her?

Well it depends of the severity of the situation obviously and if it was something really terrible or serious then I would obviously be less flippant with my actions but in the case of your average falling out, I find floating in the middle does you no favours in the end and just shows you up as being a bit vanilla. So I would side with the person I agreed with most in the knowledge it would probably be sorted in the end or at least to the degree that I would eventually be able to be friends with both, post argument.

Nothing terrible, nothing serious, and it has been apologized over.

*wasn't aware this was related to a current issue*

well in that case I suppose I would just be friendly towards both. But my point is that if it came down to it at crunch time, I would without a doubt just choose a side. And I usually respect people for doing that.

Ah I had this situation not long ago, two of my friends were fighting and the one said stuff about the other that I thought had some truth to it, but I still liked them both the same.

If you dont care why have you made a thread about the whole issue?

You're the one being pathetic at this point over something you claim not to even be bothered about.

Yes but you're not bothered by it so you say, so why make a whole very thinly veiled thread looking for attention on a subject that doesn't even concern anyone else? Totally unnecessary and like I said obviously either looking for an argument or for affirmation from other FM's on how you feel you've been slighted in some way. Why not just leave it alone and get on with it.

Because I think it's interesting how a group of people will turn their backs on a person just because of the say so of one particular person, that's all. I think it's totally necessary to highlight it, particularly when you lot had no problem with me being in that chatroom prior to this. It's shameful for all of you. you know this!

Well obviously people care more about 'a particular person' and how they feel than they do about someone who has had numerous arguments and been quite frankly vile to the rest of the people in there over recent months. Yes you came in and chatted on a couple of occasions but at the end of the day if 'said person' feels so uncomfortable that they wont chat with their friends as they usually do on a regular basis, then it's a pretty easy decision for people to make on where their loyalties lie really.

Anyway like you said, you don't care so I really do fail to understand why this is even still being discussed here.

I honestly didn't have a clue what it was about until like a minute ago, Jords isn't involved at all, I wasn't but I seem to have been dragged into it somehow.
