why is it accepted that a 24 year old woman should suck her thumb. it is ridiculous that this is accepted.
she needs help immediately. how on earth does she deal with social occasions?
sitting in a pub or restaurant sucking her thumb no wonder she says no one chats her up.
it is weird. also while she is sucking it she has to touch something with her other hand.
shes just been laying on the bed with john james, sucking her thumb and with the other hand feeling the fabric of his trousers, it is bizarre.
what the hell does that do for her?

Her habit is probably on overdrive due to the stress of being a housemate.
Maybe she controls it better on the outside.

It's definitely a genuine habit. She hates seeing herself do it on screen.

Its a comfort thing. I bite my nails so I can't judge! Habits are tricky buggers and require very strong will ...or hypnosis!

Yet she took in a foul tasting liquid which she is supposed to coat her thumb with to discourage her from sucking it - but she has only used it to coat Sam's toothbrush, so she doesn't seem to want to break the habit, does she? Can you imagine her still sucking her thumb aged 40, 50, 60 etc?

Yes, because I do. Not in public though, only at home alone if i can helpit.

I'm sure I have seen her holding a peice of fabric like a comfort blanket - she really needs some counselling or something - it is very strange!

She is 25 for god's sake - it is a lot more than not being able to give up a habit!

I have never heard of anyone sucking their thumb at that age before -and I doubt anyone else on here has! Because it is abnormal behaviour! There are definitely emotional issues going on with that girl!

She seems to lack social awareness as well! It simply isn't acceptable behaviour at her age - but she doesn't seem to see that! She is a strange girl - and I am sure the psychologists would have a field day with her!

I have sucked my thumb form over 50 years now, I can assure you that it is not a deep seated emotional or any other physiological disorder. It is a habit. It does not stop you having a nomal life, emotional or otherwise. This I say as a happily married woman that has been with the same man for 33 years.:hugesmile

I agree with your point on her seeming to lack social awareness. Once I was in my teens I learned to only be a thumbsucker in private. I could never sit in a pub etc sucking my thumb never mind on the telly.

Or there are emotional causes, which really precludes her from embarking on any potential relationship with other people, after all, why should she drag her emotional baggage onto unsuspecting others. In either case, this wreck of a sow needs to sort herself out before inflicting her "issues" on to skippy. He has enough of his own "issues" to be dealing with.

Good post! I have wondered for some time now about whether it is all a ruse for the sympathy vote - as she does seem rather adept at switching on the 'victim' role!

If not - she definitely has emotional issues! Anyone that can't see that lacks any real perception!

Your last point about them not being good for each other is very astute! I also agree with that!

They both clearly have their emotional 'issues' and would not be a very good match! In fact - they probably recognised each other's emotional vulnerability - which is why they were attracted to each other in the first place, particularly on his side! Each is the other's comfort blanket!
