'It's a fix' claims Pete

Pete Burns has alleged that Celebrity Big Brother was rigged and that the all the participants were edited into personas.

He said: "I am absolutely confident, whether they want to sue me or not, that it's rigged, it was obvious Chantelle was going to win".

The 80s icon also claimed he was not as nasty in the house as he appeared but was a victim of slick production.

He said: "I haven't seen the show and I'm not sorry for a damn thing that I said.

"The whole structure of big brother is about cause and effect and they don't show the cause.

"Everybody has a role that they're edited into, it's an extremely creative show that's put together by a team of eminent psychologists to hit people's trigger points."

When asked why he did the show in the first place he said he simply did it as he needed the money.

I think that Pete was so nasty to tracie because he wanted Rula out ,he was cleaver enough to see that people would thnk he was so bad to tracie they would keep her in and Rula was his real target ,did you see what he did when he herd she was out .

Of course BB edits housemates into personas! It's been going on ever since the show started. I can only assume that Pete has never seen BB before, because if he had, he would have known that.

I think he's right, it was obvious from the start that BB wanted Chantelle to win. If I'd have been one of the celebs, I would feel cheated!

I think his point is that he did know that in advance, Ruth. Otherwise, he couldn't have made those comments yet claim not to have seen any of the footage as of yet. Credit to him for saying from the outset that he only did it for the money, too.


BB screwed-up big time this year, because they made the editing so obvious. Several times, they took a sequence that many had seen 'live' the night before, and then edited in a completely different light for the highlights show. That may have happened before, but I can't ever recall it being so blatant.

I remember Jon Tickle writing an article saying that there's no 'selective editing', because there simply isn't time for that to happen. He said that staff make notes about incidents they find interesting throughout the day, and then the list is passed on to the producer, who picks the ones she/he thinks are the most worthy for the highlights show. But as we saw with Nadia (BB5) that's not really true.

With this year's CBB, it was a lot more than just deciding which hm they wanted to win, and than editing the footage in their favour. Much of Marsh's vileness was edited out for example, which may or may not have been necessary to prevent a law suit from Jordan & Peter Andre. But if she was afforded that luxury, then the same should've applied for Barrymore, too. They showed us his side of their conversations and not hers, making him the villain and her the sacrificial lamb. I would rather have been given the opportunity to draw my own conclusions, rather than Endemol doing so for me.

I agree with what you said Charlotte - and I respect Pete for being honest and saying that he did it for the money.

And yes, the editing was very obvious this year. It was clear - if not from the beginning of the show, then certainly after she passed her secret mission - that BB wanted Chantelle to win, and they edited the show very heavily in her favour. It was certainly not a level playing field at all.
