Jim Carrey - Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Truman Show. A little unfair to write him off as that wacky Mask/Ace Ventura dude, because he's capable of playing excellent, 3D and complex characters.

I understand Jonah Hill is amazing in Moneyball but I haven't seen that yet.

Will Smith has done some great comedian work first I think... he has done some great dramatic work as well. In Fresh Prince. Does anyone remember that monologue after talking to his dad? (There's rumors that it was improvised by Will, others say it was scripted. Either way he killed that monologue)

id also go with bill murray,vince vaughan and ben stiller both brilliant, owen wilson, will ferrell has done one or 2 so far, robin williams genius, adam sandler was great in funny people, jack lemmon (genius in loads, glengarry glenross,12 angry men, jfk, dad, the china syndrome,save the tiger etc and walter matthau (matthau brilliant straight actor in kid creole etc) billy connolly in mrs brown, more to follow
