Default Mario the yes man

what a spineless ladies man he is

he preaches about how bruce should talk to people, women especially

yet there he is trying it on with how many women? drawing penises on carols face, prancing around half naked, waking people up in the bedroom in the middle of the night and encouraging the ageism to be shown against ron and bruce with the vile abuse hurled from charlotte foul gob....this vain self obsessed tattooed attention seeking gigalo needs to wind his neck in and have some consideration for his elders.

Why should he have consideration for his elders?

Elders don't automatically deserve respect.

Example i was on the train just 2 weeks ago and a man who i would say was in his 60's told me to "move! i need to get off" and pushed me to the side.

Bit my tongue because i thought if i said anything to him the whole pc nation on the train would have beat me down but that twat shoulda been kicked in the bum hole for talking down to me or anyone else like that.

Anyway in regards to Mario having to respect Bruce.

Respect for what?

Having a coke problem?

Having a violent streak?

Being a p!sshead and in the gutter?

Please, age is just a number you can still be 80 years old and a total pr!ck. It shouldn't give you a get out of jail free card.

I repeat for the umpteenth time, waking up 74 year olds in the early hours is cruel and selfish. take the school yard pranks elsewhere in the house

hes waking up people aged mid 60s to 74 yrs old in rons case in the middle of the night without a care for the fact theyre damn old and theyre asleep. any decent human being would understand and respect that and take their school ground pranks out of the bedroom. what a selfish twat he is

Yeah i thought it was a bit cheeky of him to be critical of how Bruce told Charlotte off but yet he talks about other females behind their backs & he was also told off for been too heavy handed with Sophie & i think we all saw him slap Carol on the back very hard, you could tell he had hurt her but he never said sorry

Well I would say yes to Mario....if I was not happily married.

As to the respect thing..I was brought up with the old saying "respect your elders". As in don't answer them back etc...then I grew up and realised respect not only has to be earned but it is also a two,way street.

I'd say yes to Mario any day!

Yes respect has to be earned and is a two way street I agree entirely.

I agree with you, respect does require to be earned and is a 2 way thing.

I have a policy of respecting all people, older or younger than myself.
However, being only 21 myself, I have often heard far more sense from those in their teens or even younger than that already over the course of my life than I have from many far older.
So I will give respect to all I meet and come to know until they show little or none to me then I don't feel they warrant it.

As to Mario,I think he is a good housemate, far better than I thought he would be and I don't see where he was disrespecting Bruce really.
Also though,Bruce is so volatile there are times there is little to respect as to him and his behaviour really anyway.

Tbf, the OP did say some consideration in their post. It was another poster that mentioned Respect.

Frankly I have HIGHER standards required to respect the elder generations than I do younger. Young people can be naive, may have lots still to learn, may change through life and so you can give them some leeway with how they behave.

The countless OLDER people who are still pig ignorant, aggressive, egocentric and arrogant though? What is their excuse? They have clearly already lived their entire life that way and will die the same. They've lived most of their life and still not managed to grow or become more enlightened, and have been content to live in their small-minded little bubble. I personally don't see much worth respecting about that.

your grandfather and great grandfather who died fighting for the freedom and liberties you and I and millions of others now enjoy would be turning in their graves at these disgraceful comments. Maybe you should visit the somme or Normandy for starters then Auschwitz, educate yourself....maybe try going down the deep pit in south wales valleys to understand what these men had to do to earn a living for their families...try walking 2 miles underground carrying a coal pick a torch and spent the next 12 hours down there , then haul the coal back 2 miles.....

all these older housemates asked was to be left to sleep in the early hours, but no even that was too much to ask of this me me me selfish chavvy generation of benefit dependents

Oh sorry, I didn't know that Bruce from Corrie was a war hero or a coal miner. My mistake.

Did I say that I don't respect people for their deeds or accomplishments? All I said was that respect is not automatically granted on the grounds of age. None of these older housemates have done any of the things you've mentioned, so I have literally no idea what you're banging on about. In fact, most if today's middle aged and older generation weren't even alive during the second world war, let alone old enough to fight in it. They are in fact the self-entitled baby boomers who rode the economic uptide that followed the 80s, got themselves into unsustainable debt and ruined the economy. round of applause for our elders.

Climb off of your high horse and open your eyes.

Well said. You have hit the nail right on the head.
Also
Bruce should not have gone in there thinking it was a holiday.
But I do not like people who wake people up when they are fast asleep and that is what BB did the other night causing a rumpus among the housemates.

Oh come on, is it really Les Battersby's fault that we are suffering a recession????

No, I was only pointing out that the suggestion that "our elders" are deserving of unquestioning respect is ridiculous, and the reasoning that this is because they fought for us in WW2 is even more ridiculous.

People fought wars so the generations that followed could have freedom of speech , be able to live in a multiple cultural society and could have the freedom to be gay if they want to, if you worked in a coal mine and it was so awful then why would you want anyone of the younger generation to have to o it swell that's just silly , progress means people don't have to do such awful manual work.

Plus don't be so narrow and think that everyone is on benefits , we pay our taxes so older people can draw a state pension , society supports each other.

Just because you had a hard life doesn't mean you deserve respect , it means we learn from you and make sure ours is better.
