if that happened, it would make our response to 9/11 seem measured and reasonable. America is too big to "nuke". The American military is spread out across the country, all continents, and all oceans. and it would still be operating no matter how many nukes they dropped on the homeland. We have nuke silos in the most remote regions for that very reason. Not to mention all of the nuclear armed submarines patrolling every ocean at all times, and all of the foreign bases we have.
