Doesn't that saying contradict what the advert was going for or do I have brain fog? They want them to be ruthless and selfish not a team player, unless they have to do it in teams?

They meant it the other way, though it was clearly just an attempt to shoehorn in a reference to the eye.

I think it's a reverse of the usual meaning of the term. Instead of saying it to encourage team-work, it's being used to encourage playing for yourself. They're basically saying there's no room for teamwork when you're playing for yourself.

Anyway, I like the ad! I really like how they're focusing on the show as a game and a competition, and love the dystopian vibe going on, very fitting considering Big Brother's origins. And very Hunger Games-esque at the end, with the public contestant selection. Yeah, good stuff!

I mean, if I was being picky I'd prefer it more serious, instead of the military uniforms and Rylan's stinger at the end, but it wasn't hugely jarring or anything. By C5's standards, it was definitely reigned in.

I don't think it's all that similar to the BB13 promo, actually. I mean, they share the theme of picking contestants for a competition, but that's all really.

I think its really similar. Its all about game playing (BB13 had the same theme with the Olympics) and the fact its set in a stadium again?

Its just like another version of it.

Yeah, I agreed that they share themes, but I think the adverts themselves are very different. I definitely appreciate where the comparison comes from, but BB13's was more light and bubbly, with the clips of contestants being "trained" with shock suits, fake tanning, the upbeat music, etc. Even the stadium was different, this one is set in a Dystopian environment, rather than a generic sports stadium like place. This has funny elements and is definitely meant to be a but of fun, but is more pulled back I feel. This one is also more explicitly geared towards a strategy-based series. I do think they intended BB13 to be like that in the early weeks, but the advert just reflected a competition without the game-play thing specified.

But yeah, it is definitely like another take on the theme of choosing contestants for a competition. I much prefer this one, to be honest.

Oh, something I forgot to add in my earlier comment. I'm so glad that Marcus didn't do the "contestant selected, contestant selected" thing. And I liked his voice-over, too. See, I don't dislike Marcus, I just don't like the times they decide to make him completely OTT.

OMG you're so right I didn't even notice Marcus' voice and I despise his voice these days just re-watched and its very toned down.

Im glad they used a robotic voice for the picking of housemates sounds like the old days when a monotone voice would say "Nikki you have been evicted, please leave the big brother house".

I hope seeing as this years BB is all about technology the whole BB voice interacting with the house will be robotic especially on evictions please no more Marcus shouting "PLEASE LEAVE THE HOUSE IMMEDIATLEY!!!"
