Default I know why Channel 5 BB is so different!

I've finally realized, they've copied off Big Brother 11! The whole studio outside the Big Brother house was first created in Big Brother 11 (although it wasn't the eye and a runway coming out dividing two crowds it was just a big stage with some steps in front of the crowd) and the tacky editing first happened in Big Brother 11 as well! I've been blaming Channel 5 for so long, when it's actually Big Brother 11 which started this tackiness!

Yeah and BB11 had a lot of outside world contact for tasks etc. As does C5 BB.

Yes! I've just re-watched the quadruple eviction and Davina introduced it and was like 'Okay, now let's take a look over the past week' and there was a tacky series recap with 'JOSIE FINAL PASS' in tacky writing over the scene where Josie got her final pass, just like they do in the week reminders now like this week it was 'KIMBERLY LEFT'

It's the same production team though, I think?

Majority of producers stayed when C5 took over. Katy Smith, for example produced BB11 on C4 and has produced every series on Channel 5.

I think it was Richard Desmond who praised BB11 saying the fact it was fun caused a boost in ratings.

Channel 5 were very much in favour of continuing the tacky side of BB11 and build on it which is exactly what they have done.

They failed to realise the boost in ratings was down to the fact it was advertised as the last one and not down to the fun, whacky editing which seemed so fresh in their eyes. I think they thought it needed to move on from the old style but imo they made a big mistake by doing so.

I can remember when BB11 started playing montages and music I was ****ing disgraced I was like is this a joke?!?! lol

Yeah most people jump on the ''OMGZ C5 SUCKS COME BACK C4!!!'' hype train but they do fail to realise that towards the end of the C4 run it was the start of the tacky ****e

Yeah if Channel 4 didn't do what they did in BB11 then we would probably have the tackiness now but toned down

Marcus was given a lot more to do in BB11 as well, and I've completely changed my mind on Davina coming back. She was **** in the quadruple eviction, Emma is so much better!

Remember the housemates getting picking in front of the crowd? literally every housemate saw the others VTs. gave the last person in such an unfair advantage.

Davina just lost interest it felt during the later years. Emma is much better.

BB11's stage was only a low down stage in front of the House, and the stairs were extended a little cause they lowered the stage even more.

The interview stage thing was introduced for the final as they always did and they just kept it up for UBB because it was pointless pulling it down to put it back up 18 days later.

The production team working on Big Brother now are the same that worked on BB10ish onwards.

I know but that's where the idea of a permanent stage came from. In the earlier years of BB there was removable bits weren't there? Besides the circular stage at the bottom of stairs.

No, it's always just been the same on C4. A circular podium at the bottom of the stairs, steps and a walkway on the floor alongside a screen either on the House or in BB9/10 on a stand.

The large dome stage was the only thing removable really that appeared on finale nights.

Default If anyone is wondering where Channel 5 got their tacky editing from look no further

Channel 5 get the blame for making the show look cheap and tacky, the fact is they just built on what Channel 4 left them with.

Super hero task during BB11. Nothing more needs to be said, at least C5 didn't go that far

I never been a fan of music video style editing. Don't like it in movies or Big Brother.

I swear Ch5 producers only watched BB11/UBB before taking it up - the bad editing/the random music/the 'outside' studio.
