Shilpa instructs two recruits in the art of meditation...
Shilpa's attempts to teach the relaxing qualities of meditation to Carole and Ken were thwarted by a mid-chant coughing fit by the veteran film director.

Shortly after Ken's spluttering shattered the trio's trance, it was Carole's turn to blame the doomed session for her own maladies.

The ill-fated attempt kicked off when Ken spotted Shilpa trying to teach Carole how to meditate in the corner of the bedroom. His ears pricked up, Ken sauntered over to find out more about the relaxation technique. "Can I join your chanting? I like the sound of that," he enthused.

Shilpa was keen for a new pupil and invited Ken to take his place on the floor.

"Will I get a bad knee?" enquired the portly gent as he adopted a cross-legged pose beside the ladies.

The Bollywood babe gave Ken some instructions on how to inhale and exhale before the trio launched into their first chant.

The initial signs were promising, as they found a note so tranquil it could bring about world peace. But this lasted for only a few seconds thanks to Ken's coughing fit, as the meditators were brought back down to earth with a hack.

"We're killing him here - he's coughing like a b*****r!" joked Carole. Moments later the journalist questioned her own well-being as a result of the brief trance: "my chest hurts now - the pressure."

Worried that her recruits were dropping like flies, Shilpa offered an explanation: "You're not breathing right.

We're so occupied with life and the stuff we have to do that we don't breathe."
