I was not on any road to Damascus, and saw no lights nor heard any voices, but I have had an epiphany.

I will no longer post on Serious Debates.

I will now just enjoy the levity, fun, and trivial pusuits of Chat and Games and General Chat.

...well bittersweet really so a few mixed feelings...so sad that you feel this way and that it's so often less the topic than the agenda that's the thing... but really happy that you feel you'll have a happier time on the forum because that's what's important...

You taught me how to upload YouTube videos my Princess (even though it took an eternity for me to finally 'twig'

What do you mean you're not posting in serious debates anymore? Take a break... and when you return to SD, if people get personal and insulting, report them! Honestly Kirk, we need a mixture of opinions in there otherwise it'll be a small group of people all agreeing with each other and posting applause emoticons.

I have no idea whether he was or not Ammi, Livia was intimating that Kirk is some innocent who is battered verbally on a personal level in serious debates which is not the case, at any rate if a mod has a problem with my post Im sure I will hear about it

Maybe he does maybe he doesn't... but the thing is, I can see why Kirk is sick of Serious Debates. And the very fact that you're willing to search and produce a pie chart kind of embroiders my point. I know that Kirk gets quite heated sometimes because he's passionate about stuff, and that's often met with a hail of ridicule and a bit of tag-teaming... and more than once swearing and personal comments. Now I know that's not going to be a popular thing to say, but it happens and I can see why he wants to knock serious debates on the head. it is no place for a grown up discussion.

..seriously this is just going to get silly again...more 'claps' but not necessarily as many snipes, digs and general getting personal/targeting with more focus on agenda than topic...whether that member's opinion be agreed with or not...
